Hi guys I picked up a Orvis rod from a customer today to replace the very cheap cork handle with a custom one. The problem is the reel seat won't loosen up I've been trying a heat gun to loosen the glue that looks more rod finish. If the heat gun won't work what will with out cutting it off. I also don't want to take off guides and work from there down. Thanks Mike

Hi Ryan You can heat try heating up the seat with a heat gun and try removing the seat I just removed some parts from a rod that way just heat it alittle at a time and keep trying to get it off. Or add a fighting but and just have a downlocking seat

I have read the tutorials on decals on the couple I did the epoxy did not level well it had hills and valleys like something repelled it in some areas 2 different kinds measured correctly 2 diff. rods label was sprayed with Krylon crystal clear. any suggestions. Thinking about going back to writing in

I messed up a customers rod it is a Shimano Crucial bait caster 6ft 6-15 lb 1/8-1/2 oz . I want to replace it with an MHX in 6 1/2 ft which blank would be a good match. He likes to bass fish with twitch baits and spinner baits and worms. Mike Mikes Custom Fly Rods
