i was looking back in an old post and someone said something about wetting your finger and rubbing it accros the affected and not affected spots. i did that and there is hardly any difference does this mean that if i apply some permagloss or some other polyurethane gloss that it would look like that

ill give the polish a try but if not i live in brisbane in australia and im 16 so i dont think my folks would let me order stuff over the net or phone. is there somewhere that i could buy permagloss from and why permagloss is it thinnner. (sorry new to rodbuilding)

cheers for the responses guys. i can only say im suprised that many of you wrap by hand im only 16 and have only made a few rods but i love it so much, my dad has been making rods since he was 12 he is now 50 and he has never used any type of wrapper or dryer.

hey guys i was just looking through old posts when i thought id ask some of you a question while waiting for the garage to settle down before i can finish my wraps i just did. how many of you guys use a wrapper on your builds, most of you do it for money etc etc but do any of the people on this forum wrap by hand like i do. i have the thread spool running through a steel pipe thingy and place

Ok. i have had to remove some guides from my rod becasue i was careless when i made it back a few weeks. when i was binding the first 2 guides must have moved so the spacings werent correct. i wanted to fix this so i removed them and have fixed that spacings. i have not put finish on them yet but my question is where i have removed the guides the shiny finish on the blank which is a Samurai S1000

Hi, and thanks for the advice, i got home from school today and tried hot melt again and this time it worked beautifully i heated up the foot of teh guide and rubbed it along the stick and placed it onto the blank then placed a thin strip of masking taoe around it aswell. and where would i go to get nice thin tape at the moment im cutting a larger role witha a scalpel into narrow strips. i ha
