We have a series of blanks ranging from 5'6" - 8'6" that we have been developing with Nicola Zingarelli from Spain for the last 2 years. This is the first year that we have offered the blanks. They are listed in our blank catalog under "Heavy Jiggin' & Saltwater Composite".

You know on our production rods we use the foam flex coat type arbors for these handles. we also have some dense EVA caps made for the ends that have arbors built into them. The foam arbor (we cut into 3 pieces) and we use one piece at the reel seat we leave about 3/8" sticking out from the tube and turn it down so it fits snug into the rear of the trigger seat (we also use exposed seats). Lyman,
we will not be operating during this program. Last year it took most of the spare room we had to accomodate everyone and this year we are expecting more. If you can show up early on Friday (10 am - 2 pm) you could spend some time in the plant.

Scott,
It isn't necessary but it really helps to be able to have a pretty good idea of how many are going to attend. It will be great if you can make it.
And Mike, I wish you could make it up also.

Robert,
The Saltwater blanks in this series are fiberglass.
The ISW84-MH is a live bait type action with a light tip.

Chris,
Rick is very correct in that our biggest seller in that series for Bass is the Medium and our best seller for Fluke is the Light. Sooooo I guess if you were looking for a blank to fill both areas the Med/Light would be your best bet. That blank has become quite popular here in the NW for keeper Sturgeon because of the light tip and robust butt section.
Thanks Rick and Chris,

Jeff,
Do you have any idea how old the blank is? And is there a possibility that it is a blem?

Usually that problem occurs when there has been a problem with the cure cycle in the oven. It is very unusual to see it in lighter blanks though it is ususlly like Kevin said with the heavier blanks.
Sounds like reamer stock.

Bob,
I have built many of these rods personally. The brown is a very traditional color on that blank color and if you wish to get a little more into the traditional cane type make ups then there are some greens and oranges that look very nice also.

530. Re: out wrapping
Also just as a reference Bill, our in house wrappers do over 25 rods per day in 7.5 hour shift. \
And the out wrappers are private contractors and are required to have a business license and receive a 10-99 each year.

Dan,
I have been putting together the list of presenters and topics. It should be complete within the next couple of weeks. Actually it is complete but there are a couple of presenters that won't know until a couple of weeks before if they are going to be able to make it.
Here is a copy of the flyer I sent out to last years attendee's.
Please contact me if you need anymore information.

Mike,
At Lamiglas we pay $0.17 per tie off. A tie off consists of each start and stop.
In our plant the average out wrapper comes in once a week, picks up a box of rods and drops off a box of rods that they picked up the week before. We are very rigid on schedules as we rely on these rods to keep production flowing.
We supply tape, razor blades & thread along with the guides & hook k

Craig,
Bill described our XMG popping blanks very well. They are a blended fiber in the 50mm range. While these will be the highest performance blanks you can find they will not withstand abuse. We do also offer our IM700 popping blanks which are in the 43mm range. These not only offer excellent performance but an added amount of durability.
I will be happy to answer any questions you have ab
