George, I had looked this up a few years ago, even tried it on a rod. Technically it's not 2 stripping guides. If I remember correctly, its a normal stripping guide and a "taming guide". Mark pretty well sums it up in the post above. Tony

Aww, man!! Mike you had me all excited. I thought this was going to be another I tripped over the dog throwing the cat into pile of feathers (what a pile of feathers was doing there, I'm not sure) which in turn covered the freshly applied finish that you just added to a combo weave/buttwrap that took you 50 hrs to complete. Which after wiping off all of the epoxy still looks pretty good, LOL.

Wow, I saw Friday Follies and just assumed it was Mike Joyce, LOL. Just tell anyone who asks that it was a prototype flag that Betsy Ross had created, but instead opted to use the unlucky prime number 13. Tony

Just wanted to thank you guys for another fun event. The amount of talent with many different specialties in that small a room was impressive to say the least. As usual it was great to talk to Billy, Ralph, Sean, Capt. Neil and all the others. I wish I knew Brad was coming in from MTK, I would have been more than happy to give him a ride, although not too sure how much he would have enjoyed th

Steve, thanks. I looked on another site, a Batson vendor, and they didn't have lure ratings. I guess I should have gone right to the source. That's what happens when I post after 10 PM, LOL . Tony

I didn't want to hijack the other thread, but has any one had any experience with these blanks as far as lure rating. I'm looking for 1/2 - 1 1/2 oz range or 3/4 - 2 oz range. Any thoughts?? Getting married in late April and thinking of making my groomsmen and bestman rods as their gifts, so I trying not to go too crazy on price. These seem like a good value. Thanks guys/girls any info is

I was looking at trying the Batson VS3 guides on a saltwater spinning rod. I have never used Batson guides before and was wondering if anyone had anyone had any experience with these? I was looking at these TCVS3TCG PVD TiCh w/o Chrome Plated “VS3” Guide w/PVD TiCh Coated Zirconium Thin Ring. How are these in the salt??? Or would I need to go to something like these XTCVS3TZG PVD TiCh w/

My initial thought was to remove the butt cap, add the 6-8" sleeve, using an inner sleeve, and install additional cork rings to match up to the existing cork rings and install a new butt cap. Tony

Here's the deal, a friend of mine has 2 rogue rods that he would like to have extended. Both rods are conventional boat rods that he uses for bottom fishing, blackfish (tautog, for you New Englanders), sea bass, cod and fluke. When he holds his rod, under his arm, he has his reel slightly forward and this causes very little of the rod to be actually under his arm. So he would like to extend the
