From time to time I will deal with an old spool of thread. Sometimes its some from my stock. Sometimes its a new spool I just bought...the just happens to be an old spool from stock.
That being said...thread will fade when exposed to UV. What I will do sometimes is pull off all the thread thats exposed first.
Not 100% sure if thats your problems...but it is one source of a thread being two colo

I gotta go with it's fine the way it is.
I happen to be one of those who feels that the small imperfections are what makes it handmade / custom.

Try just dropping it on the floor (vertical)...the weight and the vibration may just release it.

UV typically will not yellow the thread...only fade it.

I havent tried this on thread wrap yet...
But I have been using a UV resin and absolutely love this stuff.
Its just a one part resin that is activated with a UV torch.(or just UV light)
The light needs to be in the realm of 365nm.
Whats pretty cool is the setup is almost instant.
A lot of lure makers use it for a final coat on hard baits.
I know that this will not yellow...Im just not

Phil...your changing the subject...aka strawman argument.
The setup we described in the OP, and the scenario that Roger so eloquently described, are examples of class one levers.
Here is a little mnemonic to help you get it straight
FLE-123.
FLE is the lever part in the middle.
Class 1 - Fulcrum is in the middle.
Class 2 - Load is in the middle.
Class 3 - Effort is in the middle.

David...I love your approach. Well done.
I have a couple of observations.
1. You added 1oz to one of the blanks and came up with 3.65 and 4.75 respectively. The second rod gained .1 oz (2.83 grams) somewhere.
This is one of the fallacies of testing with two different blanks....they may have the same model number...but there really not the same blank.
I'm not one of those people who adds w

...and we have the third group. This group cares deeply about function and does the research for blanks and components.
Then will embellish this rod with trim

It doesnt matter...its just a micro controller. You can get the same results with a $6 ESP32 or ESP8266 or a Raspberry Pi.
But to answer your question...Im using an Arduino Uno and Arduino Uno Wifi.
I like the Arduino boards because some of these devices tend to

I like this one feature...
Frequency Amplifying Receptive Technology (FART)
If you mounted another reel seat at 90 degree...you could have four reels.

I have kinda been sitting on the fence reading this thread...
I have a somewhat keen unrelated interest in vibration detection.
I have assembled a vibration sensor with an Arduino board to test various handle materials for ro

I cast right-handed and crank left-handed with spinning and baitcasting.
The hook keeper is at 225 (top being zero).
I find that all I have to do is a slight hand twist and the keeper is fully exposed.

Phil....How could you possibly know this? I'm afraid your "argumentum ad populum" is, at the very least, a faint rhetorical ripple.
In all fairness, American Tackle issued several different blanks for the builders to build on.

Niel...the Texalium (colored) may have a tendency to chip the colored coting.
This is why you tape it and cut it.
Just be a little carfull pulling off the tape. Pull it from the inside out towards the end.
