I use Glass Coat I do thin it. But I also find that the hotter it is the faster a finish will set up. I would cool the area down. The cooler it is, the longer the finish takes to set up, this also lets it flow better, because it stays wet longer. Heck if my place gets to warm, I open the door to make it cooler. Sounds like your's is setting to fast?

Sounds like you disturbed the CP coating and thus the clear went inbetween the threads as if no CP was on. Alain first then CP. The ones that do not have clear on should have another coat of CP - let dry overnight, then clear. If they are all Cleared I would think rewraping is in order Check all the wraps to see if they are packed good, tight

Heck Tom what about the blank buisness? Almost seems to be a fight between Pac Bay and American Tackle. They seem to be trying one up on each other. Then the computers in cars?? Give me a 55 chevy and I will listen to it and know when it needs a tune up. Darn computers quit right in the middle of you driving??

I still think Tom has an old willow tree out in the back yard with a pot of gold burred under it?? LOL people keep telling him to charge for this and that and are willing to pay for it. But then as said there are a lot of new builders that come here and ask questions that would be bared from other sites because they don't pay for it. This site has grown only because of the ease of access and the

John is right. But I can see it now - all your wine glasses, any thing that is round in shape will have a thread pattern on it. Nice thing for guists to talk about over dinner. How about Marbleized dinner plates???

13914. Re: Boron Rods
OK I have read here that the high end or high modulus blanks and rods tend to be more brittle?? So are we not doing the same thing only with graphite?? Yes it will be a lot lighter, but more brittle and more apt to break?? Maybe it's that - to much of a good thing???

13915. Re: Spinning Rod
One thing I do when setting up my guides to the reel is take the spool off and use the shaft that it rids on to set the guides to center and the chock guide. Hope this all helps
You can also try different but sizes like a #30 and a #20 and see if it makes any difference

We have all been there. Question; how is the surf board epoxy? Is it flexable? Think it would make a good thread coating? Have seen it on the Tap Plastics site but never tried it
