Choices above are where mine came from, I've built several rods carrying these guides and I like them very well, they come pre-ground as well .....and can be touched up, but not bad for factory imo.

I for one can say that I'm not too happy with waterslides. no matter how hard I try, I always seem to get an tiny air bubble or 2 with them. Probably my inexperiance I'm sure, but having worked with large peel and sticks in the past (for commercial trucks), the peel and sticks are a BREEZE for me.
The only thing I really like about waterslides is the thiness of them. I despise cutting them, s

1987. Re: Sand and buff?
Kevin,
I just took 1500 grit wet/dry sand paper, soaked it in warm water until it curls, wrap a small piece of the 1500 around a popsicle stick, sand out the defect. I then took 3m's Finesse II (available at most body shop paint supply stores) which contains NO silicone or wax applied it to a buff wheel made for a dremel, turned the dremel on low and buffed up the sanded area to a high gloss.

1988. Re: Sand and buff?
Thanks Jerry,
I tried it in a dust particle this evening. I took 1500, and buffed with 3M's Finesse II turned out wonderful :)

1989. Sand and buff?
Has anyone done any sanding and buffing of rod thread epoxys? Say if you have a piece of dust or whatever and it really doesn't need recoating?......

One of the best presentations for the interlines are heavy and long rigged baits/lures.
I have two Daiwa Interlines and they are very nice for Carolina rigging! No guides to tangle on and you can wrap the rig around the pole and store it very easily and return it to use fast with no obstructions.
I personally liked the rods and the design of them. They aren't something I'd go fish the &quo

I've built a good many RX7 Rainshadows in the past year, several of which I USE myself, and they are great blanks at a great price......I watched a really nice bass take my son's RX7 COMPLETELY under the boat with him having 3ft of the rod lying on the gunnel!!!!!....I was just waiting for it to snap in 1/2 any second......it didn't....and it was the largest Bass he's ever caught to this day.

I've seen it happen on a Avid StCroix factory built rod, the guides and even the butt wrap failed with moisture under them.

just me....but I'd give it 72 hours minium (to fish with it) and that is with the rod being stored in a WARM climate for that time frame......

1997. Re: Rear grip length
I'm with Matt as well....too long for my tastes.
I would make SURE he wants the rear grip ALONE to be 10"......and not the entire grip: rear grip, seat and foregrip combined for a total of 10"....just a thought.......

1999. Re: flipping stick
Brad,
I just built one for myself, it's a StCroix IV Carolina Riggin rod. I made the two piece a one!, epoxyed everything inside and out. I like the rod style very much, the only bad thing I can say about the 1+1 blanks are the weight. They are much heavier than the 1 piece's.

2003. Re: Tip top tube size??
I would use the recomended size, scuff the tip of the rod for adheasion, load epoxy inside the tip top, place it on and wipe off excess.

Tom,
At 50lbs that doesn't seem very light to me, but it may be? I bought one and it's on it's way-it's only money....HA! I'll let you guys know how it does after about a years worth of play :) ..if it makes it that long! LOL
I also bought your book-on its way also-and can't wait to go through it, I'm sure I'll learn much from it.
