Im looking forward to trying them aswell they look good for the younger bass and bream guys and may replace camo which i personally hate I wish there was a supplier here in Aust. It makes them expensive with freight.

Mudhole only has them in 17 not 16 for the kdps which is a real bugger and drives me nuts as I built 20 rods this month with kdps hoods and exhausted my stock from matagi.
I have come up with a great work around though if you are using kdps 16 you can get away using SK2 eva or the nice 2 tone cork you need to wrap about three turn of tape and itll fit snug but you also need to cut down the kd

You can build it on a cf tube then arbor inside the tube. I've done it a few times on matagi tubes it works great and looks good to boot.

I use a couple of Iwatas as well there is no way i would ever shoot permagloss through them if you want to shoot pg id grab a cheapy .05 that way you wont risk stuffing your Iwatas.

I found that it works better for me if i dont glue the sand paper to the scrap blank all i do is tape it at the top on an angle that gives a nice channel between the wrapped sand paper this helps by giving the material a place to go. Once im happy with how the sand paper is laying i wrap the but end with a couple of wraps of masking tape and it holds pretty snug. Not glueing makes it super easy t

102. Re: gold leaf ?
Pretty much any sign writer will have a vinyl cutter you just need to ask them to make a cut out of what you want to use the leaf on and ask them to weed out the font not the backgroung this will give you a mask. Stick the mask in place spray your adhesive and the peel off the mask, you will be left with the font or logo on the blank in adhesive now just apply you leaf as normal and you should be

The price on 3d printers have dropped significantly i remember looking at a couple about 10years back and they were 10s of thousands these are the future for amy rapid prototype companies but give it 10yrs and you will be able to buy a part online and simply print it out. How good would that be for lures pick the lure dload the file print the lure add hooks and go fishing.

You can use a carbon tube mudhole have them in 16mm in thier crb handle section they also have 1 inch versions. Matagi have really nice tubes in 13 & 15 mm.

The bittom ones are called wad punches here in aust we use the to make gaskets when we cant find any they work pretty well just place them on the material and give them a solid whack with a nylon hammer or wooden mallet i have a set i baught when i was an apprentice in the mid 80, they are a tool that never wears out.

I build my own rods using the best available like great qual blanks matagi bling etc etc. I usually buy the stuff bit by bit usually putting aside some profit from each build and addind bits and pieces to customers orders to keep the shipping down you end up with the best and you never look down and the rod and wish.

Hi mate,
Another trick is to pour the mixed epoxy into the base of a soda can turned upside down it dissperses the heat a little and may give you that extra time. I use empty dry cans.

Lance is right and resin wont effect the silver. If you dont want to use castin resin google doming kits that stuff works great as well.

I have built a lot of rods using microwaves and they are most deffinately my go to guides for most all of the rods i build over the last couple of months. I mainly build light or ultra light spin rods for chasing bream and other estuary species down here in Aust and for that purpose these guides are as close to perfect as i have found.
I love the way i can pretty much follow the amtack set out

I do my own but get them printed on 3m easy stick vinyl with solvent ink no need to spray and g'td not to bleed or fade i usually get 1mtr x .5mtr for $20 at the printer down the road. I've done heaps of them never had an issue. Most sign guys should be able to do it make sure they use outdoor signage vinyl.

I generally agree and would get it rushed or wait especially if its a customers rod. That said i do home brew my airbush cleaner with windex so if its not super risky have a go at the floor wax.

Hi Guys,
Here is a little trick i thaught id share with you. If your looking to photograph a rod and want a black background go outside and hold your rod in the air at night using a flash, if your camera has a flash adjustment drop it back 1/3rd or even up to a full stop you should end up with a nice shot. If your cam doesnt allow flash compansation put a tissue over the flash it will soften t
