Hi Richard,
I did one for heroes on the water put thier logo and matagi seat etc. Build an estuary rod as every fish i have ever met has one so its safe. Honestly I wouldnt go all out on the blank just use a nice bushido or mhx in polished carbon and bling it up. Unpainted graphite always looks expensive the money you save on the blank gives you extra for bling.
Adding the charity logo goes

Technology with out a doubt, the internet for information exchange, Cad and its add ons for design and improvement, manfacturing improvements allowing the use of new materials like graphite and most importantly visionaries who use this technology to create new products for us to make better rods, one person who I would put at the top of the list would have to be the late, great Doug Hannon.

Hi Charles,
My local plumbing suplier can get it probably from SA but the price was so highfrom memory it was $65 a length plus $23 per length special order frieght and 3 length min order. 90mm from bunnings is $13 a length i can pick it up locally and i cut it into 2 x 2250 with the left over i use for 2 piece rods. I wish those jet caps came in 90 but no go.

Buffs are tubes of breathable material a lot of fishos wear them around thier necks to avoid sunburn. I look at them as another way to advertise my brand they are costimg me $3 each it qnt of 500. Check the appareal page for mhx on the mudhole site and youll see a few.

If i lived in the USA I would be buying bucket loads of the Jet Caps mudhole sells and using 3 inch pipe the customer would then have a nice lockable rod tube. I would even jazz the tube up with vinyl stickers to give it some bling. I tried everywhere in Australia to get 75mm at a reasonable price but we just dont have it ours is 90mm.
Kill two birds the stuff is cheap and looks a million buck

I give them a cap and stickers for the boat I also give them a coupon giving them a 10% discount on the next purxhase which lasts 6 months. If its a very high end rod I give them a MCF fishing jersey and I'm working on buffs at the moment which will go with every rod aswell all up it cost me under $20 but gets me way more business now I usually turn that $20 into $350-400 in additional sales.

45. Re: Custom?
If the order spec card has a name on it prior to the build then its custom. If the order card is for a reseller then its a stock rod imho. Both may be the same specs but both are different products mainly governed by price.

Thanks Col, happy to be part of the atc prostaff crew both Ben and Darrin have been very supportive they are innovative and dynamic with wonderful customer service. Prostaff or not I would still be using Microwaves, Bushidos, Matrix and Aeros just to name a few of thier great prducts.

Hi Guys,
I have a customer that wants me to build him two casting rods as close as possible to his discontinued daiwa steez blitz. the daiwa specs are 6'5" 6-16lb regular taper 3/32-3/4. I played with his current rod on the weekend and to me it seemed more slow than regular and felt like it was either low mod or a blend. If anyone could recommend something similar it would be appreciated.

Cut 20mm off the front of these and they fit perfect.
Also a kdps hood fits just right i usually cut the tube of the kdps in half and fit an sk2 eva hood makes for a very nice grip

Hi,
I dont think microwaves are any harder to wrap on a spin stick but they are super easy to space out the sheet is aweful close to perfect i rarely have to adjust them much at all.

Hardly the best rods in the world, not even close now days, i would doubt shimano bothers to spine any of thier rods. I wouldnt rebuild it seems a big waste given its new.

Epoxy has to be the cheapest part of any build just buy the right stuff in the flavour you like from the suppliers left. Really whats it work out maybe a couple of dollars per build.

Well done getting those sales I have a challenge going on tomorrow at a comp down here. All my prostaff guys up and down the coast hold these challenges every week mostly at comps, clubs and a lot of boat ramps.
The challenge just sells rods simple as that.

Mike,
Thankyou so much for the vid just watched it twice and it has help me out a lot so much so that i put an order in for a lathe straight after. Ill definatley be getting one of your molds.
One question for you how much do you allow for the skin when cutting your seat recesses, i guess im asking how much does the skin and epoxy add to the foam core diametre.
