I'd assume so but take that with a grain of salt, never handled the MB733. SJ703 has a light fast action tip. The 733 ccs shows its 100 grams more powerful. Check the rodhouse comparator, most if not all the xray blanks are listed and it shows the deflection un

Kendall. Couldn't agree more. " have to be about the most refined and reliable in the history of fishing" That's been my experience too. Their premier line was where I got my feet wet with better rods and I just kept moving up from there. When I started building for myself, it was only natural to start with their products. Between factory and customs, I've probably used more st cr

Just a heads up, in the xray atleast, the 3 power SJ703 is less powerful than the 2 power SJ732. Ignore the line lure rating on that 703, it's wrong, it's a 1/16-5/16 or 1/8-3/8 oz blank and going by ccs numbers, it's close to some manufacturers 1 power SJ....i.e. MHX SJ781 The

Mick. That 29 degree AA has to be a misprint. Someone else brought that up recently about a couple of those short NFC SJ blanks.

The NFC Xray SJ703 would be right in the ned rig wheelhouse too. If I ever get mine built I'll let ya know lol. It's another light tipped fast action with good flex into the mid section. 340ish IP and low 70s AA.

I personally don't like the soft dropshot tips for neds or any small bottom contact baits.

Quick look the feather is cheaper, doesn't mention the toray carbon fiber which may be difference, IDK. UMBX was always the next level down from their K2 blanks. The UMBX S700L has a light fast action tip, but still

Seems to me that guys that hold spin reels more forward prefer uplocking w/ shorter grear grips and guys that hold more towards the butt like downlocking w/ longer rear grip. In relation to the reel seat. Makes sense cause it keeps more of your hand off the locking nut and puts the butt in that sweet spot from the elbow into your forearm. So my personal rods might technically have 7-8 inch

El, For me spinning reels feel overpowered and sloppy with lures that have alot of resistance. Baitcasters are basically winch and built to handle that resistance. Again tho, most of it is personal preference, and like ya said and spencer agreed, sometimes right tool for the job, windy situations with lures that aren't the most aerodynamic to begin with lend itself to spinning. And for

Couldn't pay me to fish spinnerbaits on a spinning reel or any lure that has alot of resistance. Well that's a lie, I'd take the money.... lol...... Cranks, jerks 99% of the time is on casting too, just more comfortable for the retrieve cadence, but if winds do get too nasty and I absolutely have to, I'll switch to spin with jerks and small cranks. You can be just as accurate with spinning too.

I think Kendall was spot on in that I don't think there is a right or wrong unless your using too few guides. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an always gotta spiral wrap guy. I think they have their time and place. I 100% agree on the rodlocker thing!

For me, it about being able to use less guides and

I was gonna reccomend the MHX SJ782-2. The SJ781 IF they had it on 2pc. In my hands they are more sensitive then any of the ML SC2 graphite st croixs I own BUT all those rods are factory and old so can't speak for any improvements in the current C2 blanks. The FW 702 sounds like it's way lighter powered than the other 2 blanks ya mentioned. Ya can look in the CCS database to see if it's l
