Mark, take a look at the lamiglas GB108L or ML, it is a 9'. Perfect blanks for our area. Ed

He dumped the rainbow colors 4 years ago. Now his car is a beautiful metalic blue with flames on the nose. Closest color that I see would be the HT Metallic blue #9245, or regular nylon #0246, or #0245 with red and ncp yellow trim band and also in the diamond/chevron combo. I saw some cool marbleizing pic's on this site that look like flames. Maybe blue base with the marble yellow and red fl

Don't rub the tack cloth back and forth on the blank or threads, just dab it straight up and down. Good luck, Ed

I also have used it. But it looks almost like dust got into your finish unless you are out in bright sunlight. Ed

Mike, I hope it works out, I have learned so much from this site, it's nice to help out. I hate the guide dressing also. I have been using a small bench grinder but I think the belt sander will be alot quicker. Scott, thanks again for all the great info. I will check out the 3M distributers and see if I can locate them. I may have to do a special order, so I may need a few partners. Ed

Scott, Thanks for all the awsome advice! Does the 3M Trizact come in different grits? If so, which grit and where can these be purchased. Ed

Thomas, Here is a link for 1"x30" belts.
What grit do you recommend? Thanks, Ed

This should be a real time saver when dressing guide feet. Seems to be a great value at $29.99!

Bob, An alternative for you might be to purchase a HobyAir 2 or simular fresh air system used in the auto painting field. It is a stand alone turbine unit which is located in a seperate area for the fresh air supply. A hose then supply's your hood with nice cool fresh air. Ed

Tom, I tried a Shimano 3500 also. Tried both reels on two seperate blanks, same results. Seats are Fuji #18's with Fuji arbors. I do have more of these blanks with no components on them, I will tape the reel to the blank to see if this changes things. Thanks, Ed

I have a 7' graphite blank that I am using the concept system on. I am having a problem when I mount the reel (Penn 4500ss) on the reel seat and align the center shaft with the table edge. The rod never intersects the straight table edge so I know where to start using the #8 guides. I can guestimate like I usually do, but I wanted to do this by the book and compare casting tests. Thanks, Ed

I agree with Steve, they are almost identical. Top quality blanks. Good luck! Ed

How about assembling the desired length grips with the rings. Glue some reel seat arbors inside the cork grips and ream to correct size for the blank? Ed

Have you checked out the triangle foregrips? Very comfy when fighting fish. Ed

I think I would keep wd-40 far far away from the blanks. Your looking for fisheye problems in your epoxy. Ed

I have had the same results with my Fugi gold components turning patina green. The gold reels are anodized aluminum, not plated steel. Ed

114. Re: Ambassador 7500
Bill that is way overkill for 8-17lb. I use one with 30 lb for stripers/Blues. Ed

Seeker BT-20 would be a great choice. It has a soft 20lb tip matched up to a 30lb butt. Trim to desired length. Ed

116. Re: Miami Dolphins
Frank, I am a J-E-T-S fan and can't stand the fins! However, my wife forced me to build her a rod with the Dolphins colors. I mixed and matched metallic teal, NCP orange and NCP white. It came out really sharp. It is on a white blank so the colors jump out at you. After 15 years the Flexcoat has turned a nasty amber color.
Now with Ricky back, you may have to learn how to weave the pot

Mike, As long as the blank does not have a real agressive taper at the fracture, you may be able to save it. Wrap a band of masking tape up from the jagged edges, take a hacksaw and trim it straight. See how the two edges match up with each other. if close, slip a scrap piece into each end. If there is a difference in both blank sizes, leave a small gap between the glued ends with the scrap

Mike, Why can't you slide and rodbond a scrap piece of blank into it and repair it? Just wrap a band of your ice blue thread as well as finish over the repair. I think the two of you will be happy. Ed

David, Use the contact cement to assemble the checkered grip, then use rodbond to glue the grip to the blank. Good Luck! Ed

I do mix and match nylon and NCP thread in decorative wraps. I do use cp on all threads and have not had any problems to date. Ed
