211. Re: Pac Bay Minimas
All my personnal rods have Minima 4, no issue, I like their low weight.
I wish they made the style F in size 3 (and 4) without this ugly wide foot (a pain to have well packed thread on small diameter tips).

Maybe take a look on extending an XSW62MX, it is really extra fast and sensitive.

More power on the lower end for the DS820-blend wich is also more responsive.
The DS820-blend is more able to play with the light weight, it handle 1/32 and 1/16 with ease.

I agree with you Roger, but sometine I like to put theory on thé water, sometime it work, sometime it didn't work.
But it seems (at least for me) that lighter guide on thé upper section improve the build.
The difference (on setup I listed) I cann feel it.
On thé other side, on common fly rod, the différence betwin, say, Recoil RSFX and PB fly single foot Wire guide is more difficult to se

I build same blank with Fuji Y 20/10/7 then L size 4 for thru tip and with Minima 4 M size 16/8/5 then F size 3 thru tip.
Not blind test but on the water I saw différence, tip more responsive.
Same with Y 25 thru 4.5 VS Minima 20 thrue 3 on another blank.
Just my 0.02 ;-)

Mike what size (style) Minima 4 you use on your build ?
I found T style for stripper in size 8 is fine, but for running style F in size 5 seems big and size 4 seems a little on thé down side.

Can't help you on l only build the F905-4-MHX (blank 45gr 1.59oz).
Very Nice Rod, one of the best 9' # tried, accuracy is top, fish short and long line, very good with Lee Wulff TT 5F.

I use ProKote, very good product, it stay more soft than FC but no it don't scratch.
I build Fly and UL to MH Spin/Cast and for me it is perfect.
Best résult with two light coats (but did numerous with only one coat).

I'm not sure the spool shaft play a major part in the GPS, at least in a KR Concept setup.
But perharps are ou talking about using the GPS in a NGC setup.

Tom
It seem you like that Minima 4 as running guide.
I use it for my Spinning and Casting rods and really like them.
What are for you pro and con versus single foot wire guide (say PB SF guide or REC) ?
I think they weight more than SF Wire guide so you soul have a good reason.
I'm going to use Minima 4 as stripper (lighter than ceramic) to see of they worl for me.
But I'm not yet ready t
