I don't understand Thatcher you mean As stated earlier à 4.5(4) is 4.5mm ring with a 4 tube (so 1.6mm tube or of you'd rather like a 4/64 inch tube) 5.5(5) and 7(5) as you list are 5.5mm and 7mm ring both on 2mm tube (5/64 inch).

Yes Jim your advice sound good. For Light applications (with or without Fuji guides) I don't think stronger guides foot are needed (I don't use them and no issue). I started using Minima 4 when taller Fuji guides was Y or T series (wich I found for the correct height the diameter was too big and so too heavy). So now, new KL are good for me (but weigt more than Minima 4, but Minima 4 are not

If you want to save weight (an money) on the guide go with Pacific Bay Minima 4 (Match frame 16/8/5 and Fly frame 3) ;-)

I build MHX DS (not the DS822 too much power for me). DS820 is very good up to 3/16oz, not too fast (upper is moderate fast), very light rod (under 3oz). DS821 more fast and more power , very light too (under 3oz too) and more versatile. DS8515 ve y similar to DS821 but more length and power. All three very sensitive, it depend of the weight you use.

I only put my hand on two blank DS6107 (IM) and DS761 (HM). The DS761 is really X-Fast and seems light beside it's 7'6" lenght. The DS6107 is not as fast, more regular in the upper 1/3 section. One blank that impress me for drop shopping is the MHX DS821, a dream for 1/8 to 1/4oz weight. Really fast but sensitive and with enough power for me (using 3lb to 6lb tippet leader).

I use Minima 4 match size 16, 8, 5 and Fly size 3 to tip. Same height as Fuji Y 20/12/7. For a really ultralight i think you can start with a minima 4 match size 12.

The pré formed Cork (short version) for the VSS reel seat fit beautifully (i build a lot with the the VSS16 and short Cork grip. Just Glue the Cork to the VSS (with the arbor glued in) let it dry and them ream the wholee to fit the blank. Then glue to the blank. Perfect fit.

I just told as I build MHX SJ720 extended and SJ781 that result is neraly the same. I don't speak generalities, based on my own experience extending a MHX SJ720 by 6 inch will result very very close as going with a MHX SJ781 straight from the box. Or if you prefer the MHX SJ720 is for me very close to the SJ781 so neraly only lenght differ.

I don't really see interest in extending a SJ720 (MHX) as the result is close to the SJ781 (I extended one SJ720 and build a SJ781 too).

Ted is on the right side. I build the two model (two piece versions), the S842 is more a Trout rod, not so fast. The P842 has a fast soft tip but with lot more power on the second section. For 2-10grms and your use I'll go with the P842, if you never fish more than 4ls leader but mostly 2lb or 3lb then perharps the S842 will be a better choice.

I'm with Roger. Don't see différence on my light rod betwen Fuji Sic and Alconite for exemple. I choose guide for fonction, Nice to see some excellent light guide at a décent price (minima 4). And if frame offer fill the need for a rod, i find Alconite the Best choice for the money. For the Fly rod i go with TiCh single foot because i don't want guide that flash with the sun, Just
