211. Re: Covid19
How bought a puff of Lysol on the box, then on the product packaging, then on the product. I have sprayed it places I never dreamed of spraying it 2 weeks ago and it seems to have no residue anywhere I've sprayed. I can't wait 2 days to open something I've ordered. Too much like Christmas.

Jason, I have found that the action of some POINT Blanks works best when you static load with no regard for progressive spacing. The top sections are very fast and I will often have the 3rd, 4th or 5th guides back from the tip closer together than 1st and 2nd guide back. Sometimes as close as 3.5 - 4 inches apart. Let the blank tell you. Load it to about 90-degrees and work from there. It won't

Yes, the blank. It was probably Donnie's fault, hahah. Those blanks a very new and I don't think the stickers have arrived yet. Send me an email at info@anglersresource and I will let you know when they arrive.

Tom, I'm going to risk putting words in your mouth...we often hear about the stiffness and lighter weight of high modulus blanks along with claims of longer casts. Your post helps me realize that a lighter, high-modulus, say, 7'6" blank is easier to move at a faster speed than a lower modulus, heavier blank of only 7'0". So while it is about "fulcrum" is it also as much about

222. Re: Fuji LKW guides
Peter, The LKW is a K-Series guide, a family of products that offer a sloped-ring design that sheds tangles and wind knots. It was introduced just over 10 years ago and has become a top choice of rod builders worldwide. The LKW is in the family. There is no effect on line flow.

225. Re: Fuji SIC Guides
Nate, at one time Fuji called tops "spinning tops" or "casting tops" based on the brace-over or brace-under design. The LG seemed to mark the moment in time when Fuji concluded that the brace-over design was more than strong enough for casting. As far as I know, we have not had a single LG returned because the braze popped loose on a casting rod.

The F Top is slated to be discontinued but there is ample supply in the pipeline. You should be able to get it although some dealers are trying to clear it out. We currently have a good supply. The FST is a Gunsmoke frame and Gunsmoke is being replaced by Fuji's new Gunmetal finish with enhanced corrosion protection. The top slated to replace the F is the LG, a top that has been in service for a

Jay, Anglers Resource has a proprietary VSS WINN grip for size 1615 and 17 VSS seats. Part number is WVSS1615 or WVSS17. Your post made me realize we did not have it showing on our web site. I does now.

There can be a big difference between guide layouts for mono and braid. So much so that Fuji defines the KR Concept as a "BRAID" concept, not a micro concept. People often call KR a micro concept because the guides run much smaller than an NGC layout. The reason is that the limp castability of braid can easily be handled by smaller guides. I personally seldom recommend a 16 stripper fo

Guide placement is the number one bamboozler for new rod builders. Bookmark this page, read it, study it, learn it and you will never have to ask this question again for ANY casting layout.

Adam, complaints about TORZITE® are very rare, to say the least. Please send me the sizes and we will replace the guides. TORZITE represents Fuji's effort to create a very light, very low-friction, premium guide. TORZITE is exceptionally resilient and features "next-level" polish, but keep in mind that the other part of the equation - light weight, a slim ring and a more open ID. There'

Herb, you can use any combination of KL-H guides you want and it will be a KR Concept approach to the build. If you use any combination of KL guides it will be an NGC build. We discuss "groups" as a quick reference to what we (and Fuji) have determined works best for many of the rods we build here. That is not to say Fuji does not stray for specific layouts for very long, very short or

The original NGC GPS gives you a read out of the position of ALL the guide sizes for any given frame style. You have to choose the three that will make up the reduction train. We would never suggest a 13 guide reduction train.
Herb, the illustration you referred to shows the KL-H used in and NGC layout. The KL-H is ONLY used in a KR Concept build. The suggested guide sizes are incorrect as wel

Phil's original question referred to oscillation, which became a discussion about recovery, which became a general discussion about quantifying characteristics of a blank.
It seems to me this subject has become more important with the evolution of higher and higher modulus blanks. We have a HUGE range of oscillation (recovery) these days ranging from glass to E-galss to high-strain carbon fibe

Brandon, to answer your question in a broader sense, the guides on a casting rod are there to manage the line flow along the blank. Line coming from a casting reel (unlike the coils of a spinning reel) flow pretty smoothly from the spool other than the side-to-side action from the way the line is placed on the spool by the pawl guide going back and forth on the retrieve. The first guide needs to

To eliminate the "wag" you don't like, shop for the highest modulus blank you can afford. It will "recover" much faster and eliminate the "wag" but you will have to deal with the inherent stiffness of this particular kind of blank. You will love the sensitivity and weight.

Thanks, Norm. Fuji has always worried about the "why" of various rod building challenges and that is the perspective we hope to bring to the web. Understanding why seems to be the best springboard for a solid foundation in fundamentals, which, we believe, is the driving force of meaningful innovation.
