Hi fellow rod builders. Since it's declared a Global Pandemic and you guy's over there in the USA is also now affected somehow, I would just like to know how you go about handling parcels from rodbuilding orders. I guess one can say some sort of cross contamination can occur during the courier handling process? Any extra measures you guys does upon arrival of new packages as it's no longer imports that helds a risk.
Stay safe and Happy building! Re: Covid19

Let packages sit for a day or 2 and practice good hygiene. That's how I'm handling it. Re: Covid19

From what I am hearing (CDC) the virus has a fairly short life span when not on a host (human/animal). Shipping generally takes several days and if via air can be sent in a non-climate controlled compartment. The risk is very low of transmitting the virus through normal packaging. However to be extra safe, I would definitely wipe things down with alcohol. I used a grocery curbside pickup last night and wiped down the contents just to be safe.
Hopefully if we all adhere to the advice of social distancing and washing hands etc we can get through this sooner than later. I hope this is not the new norm of pandemics.... Stay healthy! Re: Covid19

I was also pondering wiping with denatured alcohol and let it aside for 2 days and wipe again. It can stay fairly active on surfaces depending on climate conditions. Below 30°c it has a lifespan of 24-36hours and above 30°c it can stay active between 18-24hours. So 48hours might be a good incubation period.

How bought a puff of Lysol on the box, then on the product packaging, then on the product. I have sprayed it places I never dreamed of spraying it 2 weeks ago and it seems to have no residue anywhere I've sprayed. I can't wait 2 days to open something I've ordered. Too much like Christmas.
