Based on the photos I saw, I think the claim of "broken finger" and the Shimano comment are in extremely poor taste. And I have no idea why this was posted by Marc prior to seeking resolution privately.

Hi all,
what are your favorite epoxies to assemble handle components and glue them to rod blanks, and why? I understand there is no perfect epoxy product..

Marty,
did you build the rod? If not, please let me know if you'd be interested in selling the xst1141.
Thanks,
Rick

A bit off topic, but what might it cost to ship a 2 piece 7'6" blank to Romania? Best carrier?
Thanks in advance,
Rick

I just received a Megabass UL ajing rod. 1 to 3 lb test, 1/60 to 1/8 lures, solid tip. It's remarkably faster than any UL blank I've seen. I love it. There seems to be something unique about this rod, at least. Now I have to convince myself I can tie little guides on very narrow rods...

10. Re: Ajing rods
Thank you, gentlemen
I'm going to try one out before building to see if I like the fast UL style

Thanks Eric. What is the purpose of the solid tip, in your opinion?

12. Ajing rods
Has anyone built this type of rod? It seems they often have solid tips that are very thin. What are your thoughts? Blanks used? I only have found Matagi's T-Russel blanks.
Thanks,
Rick

float and fly fishing for bass typically involves a small hair or feather jig (1/16 or 1/32 oz) under a small float (typically 6 to 10 feet under).
So you'll need a long blank that can handle small weights and light lines. Fly rods are probably too soft, but I imagine some 8 to 10 foot steelhead blanks may do the trick. Figure on 2 to 6 pound test for this type of fishing.

I just got one of these blanks - the PB661MLXF
I've not built it yet, but first impressions are:
extremely light yet stiff
wide diameter for much of blank, tapers quickly towards tip
very thin blank wall
It feels like it will be quite sensitive
I don't know how durable it will be - only fishing it will tell
It kind of reminds me of Shikari's high modulus blanks, which were great b

Makes sense, gents - I'll put it up for sale and possibly give those Eternity 2 blanks a try!
Thanks,

I'm assuming this model is too floppy (technically speaking) to make a UL spinning rod out of the blank.
Any opinions?

What can you tell me about this blank?
The Model number appears to be 4100-4-ZX
Any CCS measurements available?
I've had it around for a while and am trying to decide what to do with it.
I'm not a nymph fisherman..
Thanks,
Rick

Mr. Reed,
are the Aero seats all size 16, or do you have any size 17 Aero seats for sale as well?
Thanks,
Rick

I am not a die-hard defender of free markets for everything, but in this case each supplier has the right to charge what they feel is proper and the burden of not losing money or customers. Each customer has the right to choose suppliers and the obligation to understand what the terms of the purchase are.
It's quite simple. And good relationships can be maintained in a fair way.

I'm pretty sure those holes are standard in Fuji plate seats, at least on the larger sized models.

I have never seen them. I would like to find plate reel seats that are not raised off the surface of the handle, screw down or not.
I have drilled holes in Fuji plate seats but wasn't happy with the result
