Can you share the new name for these seats? I couldn't locate the seats in a quick review of AW's website
Thanks
Rick

Cannons make noise - that could be a problem in some locations
My guess is that the accompanying rod and reel would need to be pretty stout to handle the shock of the propeled bait. And you'd certainly need to hold on tight to prevent your rod from disappearing over the horizon!

You are definitely having fun with this!
Soon we'll have a new website - Wrapperbuilding.org!

All,
I was unable to attend and would greatly appreciate subjective/ objective feedback about newer lines/ designs of graphite rod blanks shown/ flexed. Lamiglas, Hydra, Phoenix, Fjui, etc.
Thanks for any info,
Rick

Permagloss is pretty watery (non-viscous). Use a brush - cheap should be fine as long as the brush hairs remain in place!

Thank you - that is a generous offer that would help us better assess these blanks. I cannot claim to be well enough versed to do those measurements, either.
For consideration by rhe Forum - is there interest in performing and sharing these measurements? Would we go to Aiken, SC or "borrow" blanks via shipping and return them once measured?

38. Re: Nano guides
I have built over 40 rods using only PG and have been quite happy with the results. They only issue is that you will have to apply more than one coat.

Light braid typically allows you to use small rings - 16 should be adequate for 5 lb braid. Test it out!

Ron,
I cannot give you the spacing as I have no experience with this blank. Even if I did, I'd advise you to go to the Library (above) and follow the directions in "Static Guide Placement". Every rod blank is a little different - if you are going to invest the time to build a custom rod, I think you will be happy that you took the time to customize your guide spacing.
Bst wishes,

The PHenix Elixir series is more likely to provide you with a relatively fast action spinning rod than a fly rod. North Fork offers some rods that you could extend beyond 7 feet.

Those are elegantly simple - and likely to be ergonomic.

It looks like the CCS Data is no longer posted - you may have been able to get comparative data from there, assuming you could find rods that had bee n measured amongst your friends

I'd guess that Phil might advise that you saturate a lint-free cotton cloth and quickly swipe it down the blank from tip to butt.
Immediately rotate the blank 180 degrees and do it again. Let stand for about 20 to 25 minutes and repeat.

Sorry Tom and Maryann - I did mean the choke guide (the guide nearest the reel)

49. Re: help please
I gradually got away from specific reel sizes when buidling a rod, simply because I did not expect to use only one reel on a given rod.
I typically fish with size 1500 to 2500 reels. 27X a "typical" diameter is around 48 inches. While there may be an ideal guide size and ideal placement, I do not think you will serve the customer poorly by spacing the stripper guide at 45 to 48 inche

Firestarter, knife, water purification tablets, paracord, extra hooks - these are all replacable items, pretty heavy as compared to a typical fishing rod. Fitting those inside a hollow handle mgiht prove diffcult - find out the "size" of these items from your customer. He may have something specific in mind that precludes a hollow handle solution - then the case remains the only option.

Or the PermaGloss may be starting to catalyze. Is your PG like water in consistency, or is it more like a gel?

Forhan locking wraps can be used with the Fuji KL guides. The resulting locking wrap is wide and somewhat open at the top but still seems better than no locking wrap.
