I cut a lengthwise section out of one of the cardboard tubes my blanks come in so that I can save paint or clear finish instead of spraying one blank at a time vertically.I can also rotate the blanks while spraying.

I am building two rods exactly the same on the same blanks except one is cast and the other is spin with the Fuji ACS. Considering finishing thread wraps same colors as each other but mirror image, or whatever.

I turned this grip out of regular cork rings and burl cork rings, put on a phenix blank with a Fuji ACS reel seat. This is before I added the cork seal which as you know darkens the grip.

This is a silver thread ready made butt wrap that I got from Mudhole, I trimmed the edges with blue thread and mixed fine silver glitter into the finish over the wrap. I painted the reel seat to match the blank that I painted.

I don't suppose you have ever considered kind of a circuit sort of set up for the expo. Like one year in High Point then Denver then Las Vegas. So that the expo could attract more people as it will be an event never before experienced in those areas. I would like to point out that I am not telling you that you should or anything. I know that you pretty much do this because nobody else will and

I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Acid rod, they are more than happy to help you understand anything that you are interested in. Every one of my orders has been delivered in a timely manner, and with extremely cheap shipping. Great people, great business, great customer service, and any time I made an online order I always got a call from them the next day as it seems like every t

I have done it several times with good to excellent results. I just mix the glitter directly into the finish as I am mixing it up. I don't even put a layer without the glitter over it. There is no roughness, or anything, especially if you use the really fine glitter like the stuff that mudhole and several other sponsors offer. And it looks awesome in the sunlight. You can use quite a bit of glitt

I have tried a ridiculous number of things to clean my brushes and there are only two things that I have found that work well. U40 brush cleaner which is fine if you want to buy it a couple ounces at a time and have to wait for shipping, or epoxy thinner. Keep in mind epoxy thinner is ridiculously harsh. So if money and or time are of no concern U40 brush cleaner is awesome. Xylene, Acetone and s

I have been known to have a crooked eye myself so I always worry when aligning my guides before finish as well. I have tried the laser method, I have tried the perspective Eric mentioned as well as the exact opposite method where I hold the rod vertical and check alignment. Lately however I think that the tool described in one of the recent RodMaker magazines. It is used to draw a line on the cen

I have no idea what to do. I have just finished a rod that I have put a lot of time into, it is part of a 4 rod order that I needed to send out tomorrow but the finish went all buggy on me. I started out with threadmaster lite and have had no issues with it. Lately however, I have been using permagloss. I figured I could finish the rod faster with the Threadmaster but for some reason even though

I started out using Flexcoat Rod bulders epoxy for gluing rings and attaching handles and seats. I then made a change to the U40 stuff that is about the consistency of vaseline. As a result I haven't used the Flexcoat for several months. I didn't think that it would matter because I thought the stuff had a ridiculously long shelf life. When I used it yesterday the clear one of the two parts had c

I have a website that offers what you are looking for in a million different finishes and even painted ones. But they are expensive, if you just type fish skeleton pin into the search bar on @#$%& you can get several different sizes of the fish skeleton for about $5.00 each. James

Bill, I didn't even know that a reel could be tuned or balanced much less to a specific line weight and size. You guys make me feel like I am five again with my snoopy spin cast reel and rubber casting plug. Could you give me the contact info for the reel tuner in VA you mentioned? I have my first Bass tournament in April and want to do everything I can to make sure that I master everything that

Has anybody had the opportunity to use any of these new blanks yet? They look really cool with the deep copper finish, but with the price I want to make sure that several people have had good experiences with it. Also, the Mudhole site which is where I found them does not list there action. I tried to go to the Lamiglas site to see if they listed the actions there but they don't even list these m
