Some people hold onto a lock of hair from a passed pet or loved one. Encapsulating it on a rod seems better than tucking it away in a keepsake box somewhere.

I don't think a post about wrappers is complete until we include Renzetti/Clemens wrappers. I know a current unit is more expensive than the posters budget, but you can still find old Clemens units out there occasionally for less. And the quality of these units, well, is phenomenal to say the least.

Wish there was a choice to view one way or the other. I preferred the way it was, seeing fresh new posts that aren't pushed to the bottom by the same ol same ol ones that sometimes drag on and on and on between very few posters.

Looks like spiral wraps have made their way into the bass pro circuit, at least with Klein. Maybe a cajun rod? You guys probably already knew of this. I didnt, so was pleasantly surprised when I saw it on "a day on the lake".

It pays off to keep a custom rod in the car, and to stop off for a quickie on the way home from work.

Saw this on internet @#$%&. Couldnt pass-up posting it due to its interest. It holds 75 rods, 25 per drum. If I could fit it in my basement I'd buy it, simply 'cause I want the most toys!

Probably not too important too most, but to Tom Kirkman he went out of the way to replace an old hat with a new hat at the request of my wife last xmas. When the original got lost in the mail during a HEAVY storm, he replaced it at no xtra cost!

Nothing more intricate potential than a weave IMO... Lots of learning material here on RBO: And a great tool, albeit expensive, if you can still find one: And plenty of examples on the RBO photo's page: One of my earlier attempts: On of the most intricate I've ever seen from THE subject matter expert:

Gonna make my 1st travel rod. I have everything I need - 2-pc blank, guides, grips, seat, etc - any tips from experienced travel rod builders? Is there a rod maker article that covers travel rods (I have all the issues just don't recall if there's a volume/issue that talks to travel rods). I'm assuming I just layout everything the same as I would on a 1-pc, but when it comes to guide placement do

I noticed these aluminum and brass tube caps. I have no experience with them however, and they do seem a bit small depending on the application, so couldn't say if they would meet your needs or not.

How long has rodbuilding.org been in service? I only discovered it in 2005 or thereabouts but I'm pretty sure it was around much longer before that?

Hi Raymond - Great to see you posting again - a real blast from the past. I haven't posted in a long time myself. I miss your library - thought you had a good thing going there. Anyway, hope you are doing well, and still partaking in the crafts! Cheers! Steve
