The Xcalibur 130 guides will be way too large for that blank…. The 80 class will be much better, but not sure on the #3 guides being to big towards the tip… The 30 class has clearance that will work…..

Erik, Use 0 and 180 to start the first pass.... Say you are using 1 inch spaces.... 0 axis will be 1 inch, 3 inch, 5 inch and 7 inch.... 180 axis will be 2 inch, 4 inch, 6 inch and 8 inch.... Make one pass up and down...... You will see an “X”.... Next spilt that “X” in half with passes at half distances in between..... With one pass.... That is the basic layout for a double diamond or

I have only ever seen one, it was at an old Holland Distributor. Might be a tall task to find one now. What color are you trying to match or find?

Dennis Danku has the correct info on the Renzetti Heavy Duty Turning Motor specs... I was lucky enough to find one, didn’t really use it much so it is out on lend to someone that is using it daily. I did a ton of research trying to find another one to no avail.’ The motor is no longer available to anyone. It was a private label motor I was told. These units were the brainstorm of Andy Renze

I guess I was not totally clear, this is for the headstock on my wrapping lathe, not a wood or metal lathe. Gave them the soda bath last night, then brought them to work and rinsed them in the parts washer, then tonite gave them the Boeshield T 9 treatment. Then wiped them dry and will let them sit to dry further overnight. Thanks for all the advice.

Two of the TAig style chucks on the headstocks of my lathes seem to be binding up, I have removed then and gave hem a bath in Coca Cola to remove the surface rust, (don't laugh it works), but now am curious what others do to keep the chucks operating smoothly. I am uncertain as to what to use as a lubricant for he jaws as the potential for a fisheye and contamination vortex is there!

Does anyone here have or use the Dale Clemens 4oz spool carriage? Trying to get information on the thread routing pattern off the spool thru the vertical posts to the upper arm. Thanks in advance!

I have their chuck system, but it does not fit our traditional motor shaft size which bummed me out! Looks like a great way to secure the rods!

Never have used the one part, but have been told by ones that have used it that it shrinks a little as it cures, so be careful if you think you are getting full coverage!

Both companies did at one point make a four ounce thread carriage. They were different designs by both manufacturers.

I would go with a hardwood bushing, or a drywall tape bushing to fill that gap. But that is essentially what you are looking for! But I would really advise your friend to not even consider this type of a set up with a belt, someone will get hurt, over taken overboard.

The Chatham Special rod is an IGFA RT80 blank, with a #6 curved handle. Charlie Ponte and his crew at CMS Tackle, started building these set ups years ago, and other builders have also done this type of set up. It is an effective way to land fish, as with fishing the lighter gear as the fishery has changed so much over the past decade. This is the wrong choice for a stand up type application.
