Check with Blackfin Rods, www.blackfinrods.com, they have painted blanks for me before, beautiful snow white awlgrip. They should have a blank that will fit your needs as well!!!

Most metal lathes that you would be looking at will not offer a decent distance between centers. I have an older Atlas Metal Lathe and could not imagine turning cork or wood on it. There is no reason to get a metal lathe for it. You would have to purchase a tool rest and would never use half of the metal lathe features. I believe the Pucci Guides are very similar looking to the old Fin Nor style big game aluminum roller guides. The removable type roller guide Tom mentioned I believe is made by Alutecnos.... I do not have any idea on where to buy the Pucci Guides.

Mike, the turn on the top style of Roy's buttwraps was intentional from a performance view rather than the visual view as well. Roy would do some pretty trick stuff to rods to help modify their actions, one of his beliefs was that by using an upper tie off, or by not keeping the pressure on the thread thru out the wrap would take out some power that was establish with the wraps. Hey Bob!! I know the Seeker 1153 can be cut to fit as well as a Gatorglass, I do not have the model number right here in front of me however. Also Lamiglas BT108, and The 1362 or 1363 could both be "modified" to fit the bill. I have some specs written down,let me dig them up and I will give you a holler...
