The blank is smooth and seems to have a clear finish coat applied. It is an expensive blank so my question is -what is the best way to remove it as I definitely need to lighten it.

Hi guys: how much weight can you lose by cutting down a blank or maybe sanding it down. I have a k2 763 that says it weighs 43 grams or 1.52 oz but it really weighs 1.83 ounces.

It just so wild looking, is there anybody that bass fishes with a threadless rod out there in .org land? A small dab of epoxy only goes under the guide foot and the permagloss over the top.

Thanx norman, the drill bits idea worked great. I got a tapered Eva butt, easily reamed it out and slid it on from the bottom slick as a whistle, it fit tight and didn't even need a winding check.

I guess I just have to try it. As far as advantages, it would make the rod lighter and just be cool to show off.

As usual, thanx for the help guys. Be vigilant and watch out for porcupines although I've never seen one around these parts.

I have some five minute epoxy for under the guide foot. I don't know if I should sand down the ridges under the guide or not.

It's only three pieces of cork or an inch and a half butt. They sell a Eva butt that's an inch and 7/8 and wondering if I could just stretch it over the end of the blank and If I had to choose between the porcupine and the rat I'd take the porcupine.

17. Permagloss
Read in the archives about using permagloss to attach guides without the thread and was wondering if it would work on an nfc delta blank which is unsanded and has ridges. Also does it actually work and last?

Something chewed the cork butt off one of my rods. My uncle used to tell me the story of a porcupine chewing the cork off of someone's rod so that is the likely perpetrator. Haven't ever used Eva and was wondering if I could just get a short Eva butt and squeeze it on?

The 703 is 1.303 oz the 692 is 1.54 oz the 705 is 2.05 oz the 714 is heavier than I thought at 2.3 oz and is 7 ft 2 5/8 inches. The 704 hm weighs 1.77 oz. sorry it took so long but the blanks are at my friends and today was the first I could get over there. That 714 is gonna be a nice stick although I might cut off a few inches off the butt to lighten it up for my buddy.

Finally got to see the villian rod. It sure looks good but even with that cutdown trigger it still weighs 4.3 oz on my scale. According to my friend the only way I will be getting that trigger from him is when he breaks it in half.

Would still like to see some pics of the different 3 or 3.5 sized micros side by side that you guys have. If you click on my name you can e-mail me. Thanx

Somewhere (probably in a basement in Japan) someone is probably designing a special dropshot rod. It weighs one ounce, has no guides and a rear grip that conforms to anyone's hand who holds it.

I'll get you the exact weights of the deltas I have. I believe the 714 was right around 2 oz

Has anyone tried the Fuji mk's and I'm also thinking about the minima's. And what is the deal with those, I can get a size 3 for .69 or $4.59 with many versions in between.

Funny thing as I looked at the alps pmk,s again today instead of going down in price the smaller the size the opposite is true. As the size 3 costs more the size 4 which then costs more than the size 5.

After looking at my last response it looks like I'm a real tool, I can assure you I am not. The first sentence of my response was an attempt of humor ha ha and the second was a question i wanted answered which printed alone is innocent enough. Put them together and it reads badly. Believe me calver I was happy to see the video and appreciate the time brad spent posting it which I have no idea how

Nice video brad, thanx for sharing - fancy rod with unique reelseat, big bass on the wall and alfalfa haircut. Anyone have any ideas on the carbon wraps?

29. Villiain rod
A friend just purchased an Abu Garcia villain Rod with this wild looking trigger which I can only describe as holding at an angle it looks like a Atlanta braves hat A without the cross. He claims the guides are titanium micros and are also carbon wrapped to be lighter. What does carbon wrapped mean: is there such a thing as carbon thread or is it a carbon shrink wrap or something and where can I
