I learned about the locking wrap back in 2012 . Tried them on a spinning rodThey work so well , only trouble I had,was. I pulled the thread way to tight and had a time moving the guide a bit to get in line. I still use it on all of my single foot guides. There is a little trick I use before I tie them off with the Forhan loop Tape the thread off check the line up move if you need to then tie off

I can’t see buying any kind if rod for that kind of money unless it had Gold in it. When one talks about price on a Custom Rod, $500.00 is not real, if you can get that much for the rod, .please tell us how you do it,The best price I’ve got for one rod was $ 175.00 that rod I gave $90.00 for the rod blank. Well I feel like Some one is not living in the real world.just my thinking,.,

Gib, I think Tom has it right, me I use one rule when I'am useing any kind of glue" 1Dull the shine., 2 clean the dull and let it dry and all will be fine". It works for me, I have not had any troubles with glue ups in 15yrs. I have been doing rods.

Ok, My wife was cleaning out her thread box ,found some nice colors but they are Polyester. Someone told me that polyester was not to be used on Rod wraps because the thread will not hold up , and if used for dress up . It will fade, so I just never looked to use it on rods now I find my self looking at 10 cool colors free to use, are they ok for Rod wraps?

Try this: With the cap on tight put the cap end in to you'r rod dryer , set roller brace on the bottom end of the bottle , turn on Take your hair drier set to low, warm bottle as it turns , untill it gets clear it takes me about5 or10mins. Richard

Troy, Do like Bill said, Or try my way , It works well for me, I always talk to my customer before I do anything I know it can be a trick to strip a rod. so try ;;1 dull the shine on the guide thread,I use 400 wet dry sand paper (wet it ). sand VERY LIGHTLY. now wrap with the color you want over the old wraps, it should look good and save you the chance of messing up
