For years I have been asking manufactures at ICRBE for GREEN winding checks. Everyone had green trim rings and green butt caps but no green winding checks . It seems right now that green is a hot color and is offered on a lot of major brand rods. Also with the Winn grips in green, green/black why not a green winding check Well I just saw that Mudhole is now offering green in three differen

While I build mostly with carbon fiber grips that I make myself, I have had a couple of clients ask me about Wynn grips and I thought I'd ask you guys a couple of questions: 1) my son works in a golf shop and while he agrees that the Wynn grip are at the high-end of the spectrum, he also has a set of regular golfers that come in each year to have their clubs re-gripped as the Wynn grips break

I'd like to build a matched set of casting rods using the Fuji SK2 reel seat and Winn Grips. Unfortunately, I've not been able to find properly sized grips in basic black. M.H., A.W. and G.B.O. have grips made for the SK2 but either are the wrong color or don't seem to come in a 3.5-4" rear grip. Does any one: 1. Know of a source of a properly sized casting rear grip? 2. Or h

Looking at trying to build a new spinning rod to throw ned rigs, shakey heads, and smaller tubes. My blanks are narrowed between SJ842, SJ8600, and perhaps the P842 all by MHX. Guides I am torn between the K-Concept which I love on my casting rods or the Microwaves I had on my last spinning rod. I am very happy with the results of both guide trains, just trying to optimize the build. I will be us

I went through the search process but it just makes my head spin. I'm in the process of assembling parts for a Rainshadow Revelation crankbait blank and I want to try the Winn Grips. It seems there has been much talk about fitment with particular reel seats. I like an exposed seat with split grips. I am not partial to any particular seat as I simply have not had any experience with them at this p

I have a couple of rods with EVA handle grips where some critter (mice?) decided to eat small chunks out of it. I'm thinking of filling the holes with something and then using grip wrap or shrink wrap to cover the whole grip. What do I use to fill the EVA? I've though of wood filler but don't know if it will stick to the EVA foam. On another rod the EVA is weathered/dry rotted and am wond

Following is the latest update to the Exhibitor list. I expect this to be just about the final list, although it always seems to happen that just before the event we get one or two cancellations and one or two additions. But this should be 95+% of what will be the final list of exhibitors. EXHIBITORS/VENDORS As of February 8, 2017 American Tackle Angler's Resource/Fuji Angler

I may have mentioned this before but I am really disappointed in the lack of options for the casting rear grips. Big fan of the Winn grips but they only have one grip that fits and it's only about 2 1/2", did they make the grip for toddler size hands? Not sure which way to go....change to EVA or change reel seats, but I am very frustrated.

So the only model of Winn grip that states it fits with the SK2 is WKSK2, however this grip is only 2.5 inches. Has anyone successfully installed any of the 3.5" straight taper grips on an SK2? Can't find much info.

Hello everyone, My son is building his 5th rod, and it is the first time he has used Winn Grips. I don't know if there was an issue with the hole in the grips that arrived or with the technique used by my son, but after he reamed the rear grip you could easily see that the hole was not centered. So now the seat does not run flush against the rear Grip all the way around the rod. Thus, his &quo

I have an 8.5" winn grip for a bass casting rod shown in this pic When I bought it I assumed the butt cap would come off so I could ream the handle and glue the cap on. But that's not the case. If I just ream the whole thing to fit the .510" butt diameter then I'll be left with a big hole to cover. I looked at some plastic caps, but they seem to be larger diameter than the .720&

I have a fellow interested in having 2 trolling rods built and he would like Winn grips on them. Any clue as to how they would hold up in Rod Holders 90% of the time in that application? Or would EVA be a better choice? Thanks Jay

Didn't want to hi jack Toms thread on Carbon fiber since this is a bit different. I am doing a rod repair of a St Croix Legend Tx that the rod was crushed between the split grips. He also wants to add to the length. So my question?? Has anyone used carbon fiber tubes to make extensions on rods? I looked at Sollers and a few other sites on line and there are claims that the carbon fiber tub

Has anyone else noticed a trend shifting back to full length grips on casting rods for bass? In the last month or so, I've had a couple dozen or so requests to either build with full length grips or to replace split grips with full length cork. It seems like the guys in this region just can't get away from the old style Loomis stuff they are used to fishing and continue to think they are the best
