I'm doing one now and have done several. For me they are on the up side of light.. 6OR 8 LB. is closer. (imo)

I would not recommend Xylene to remove the Testors. As it may remove the paint on the blank also.
If you use a solvent try it someplace you can cover if it takes off the paint. It is possibe you may be able to get it off by scraping it with a finger nail

Not a Dobyns but I had a new GLoomis that the finish was extremely hard on.
I used a hair dryer and slowly warmed it and finally got it all off.
Called and emailed to see what type of finish they were using but no answer yet. Maybe the UV stuff?

Does Batson have any plans for a tip top with a size 4 or 5 or 6 ring that will fit these blanks.
Thanks Ricky

If you use Fusion and you are going to top coat with permagloss or lumisel give the paint a week to completely cure.

No expert but the cork handles I have coated I used Riley Rods finish. It's a harder finish and more durable.

The Bateson spg 601 will also make a fun to fish short flyrod. It finishes out around a 4 wit. with a relatively slow action

When I started online payment I was told I still had to mail in the paperwork. So that is what I do. Also note the confirmation number on signature page and also in your records.

Most if not all the suppliers have a comment box on the order form. Leave a comment for them to size the checks to the blank were you want them placed.

Have not put a micro wave guide on a rod yet so can not say good or bad.
What I am waiting for is someone to bring me one they stepped on and broke and I tell them what it cost to replace.

My suggestion is to get the inserts that fit the finish bottles for the syringes.
