91% may work, but the 70% won't. At least not in my burner. I use the 70% for cleaning my hands and tools....had to make a WalMart run for the denatured which is PERFECT for any alcohol burner.

Two piece or one piece, it won't matter. Set it up using any of the methods for spiral and you'll be happy. I'm very happy with the Forecast single foot fly guides.

727. Re: Grip Question
Shawn, I'm not real sure how he does it. I've e-mailed him asking him to get in touch with you. If that doesn't work, it goes something like this...bore the ring to the size you need, soften it for a while, perhaps in hot water, then split through one side to the center. CAREFULLY, fit the split around the blank, Rod Bond the split and the ring, clamp and you should be good to go. If I

728. Re: Grip Question
I wasn't thinking about the foregrip, thats another problem. If you are considering cutting the grips and seat off you can make an entire handle assembly and fit it the existing section just as if you were adding an extension. That was covered well in Rodmaker (sorry, don't know which issue). You get a new handle and the same rod with little or no noticeable difference in action. Cork can al

I don't think you'll have a problem with what you want to do Shawn. More cork tape will increase the diameter. Depending on how much more you want to increase it, you could spiral cord up or up and down and then apply the shrink tube. That will give an interesting texture to the grip. You could also remove the cork tape and install one of the smooth butts or graphite sleeves instead. These c

It's hard not to want to give a detailed description sometimes, but Mike has your best answer. Laying out the spacing and sizing for a spinning rod is covered very well in the FAQ's. Those that set up that way are rarely going to switch back to any other method.

No question for me, Forecast single foot flys in any of their materials or finish. They go on all my spinning and casting rods.

Sounds about right, only test casting will tell. You could probably get by with just one 12 and 10, then down to a couple of 8's and out to your 6's, or stay with 7's and a 7 tip top. Spencer's suggestion to spiral wrap is worth thinking about. A word of warning.....that 1355 is going to cast mile and then some!!!!

MorTac also has a good demo for spinner making and a tool for doing so. They have an excellent line of spinner components that work out here in steelhead and salmon land. I have a tool but could never get it to work as well as a pair of blunt nose needlenose pliers.

734. Re: forecast blanks
If you thought the old line of Rainshadow and Forecast blanks was good, just wait. I saw some prototypes that the Batson folks had just wrapped and were about to go "river test". Beautiful blanks, some great changes in design and color. Tried to talk them into letting me go test them so they could stay indoors, nice and warm and dry, but it was a no go. Just have to wait a bit lo

Ditto. I used the Forecast black frame/blue ring turbos on a Halibut rod. Did the transition in three guides. Looks nifty.
