I use a drill as well...I clamp the drill to my table and use another clamp to control the trigger....and speed....Its been working really well!

I use a circuit tester for fuses..Small with a little handle..I hit it with steel wool to dull the point and create a super smooth surface...Great for burnishing and packing trim bands,and decro wraps

Adobe Illustrator is going to be better for graphics IMO...Since you can work with Vector files...Photoshop is all Raster files. If you have access to Illustrator,Theres several tutroials online alone to help you with that. Heres one company that should have a few videos and help. Good luck!

Awhile back I stopped trying to fully cover a rod in one pot..Given the pace I move and work (slow and steady) I quit trying to it all in one sitting....Now I normally do the first half,come back in a few hours after the epoxy has turned under some heat,and finish the rest...My work has been much cleaner and even when I dont race the clock. Not the most efficent way at all..But I stick with it c

I second Golfsmith....I use golfing two part epoxy for my reel seats and grips...Great stuff!! My Dad made golf clubs (still does)...He also uses the same method for putting on EVA grips on rod and grips on clubs....Double sided masking tape and lighter fluid..They dont budge.

You know its funny I was thinking about lighting on the way to work this morning..Well that, and a sausage McMuffin=) ...My old shop lights got left behind on a move...The architect lamps work good with white light,and are great for close ups.However alot of heat is coming off of it. Question: Is there a difference between white and cool light...Cool light meaning fluorescent? Walker

Now how do you normally do the ends of the grips once mounted on the rod?....I mean would it be difficult to get it flush with a winding check or would ramping the epoxy be better? Just curious,thanks

Im looking to find some ''colored'' silicone o-ring suppliers ..I found a few sites but they seem to only sell to businesses or in large bulk,.Tried Home Depot but they didnt seem to have any colors...Im looking for sizes 1'' - 1.5'' diameter Any help would greatly be appreciated Thanks Walker

You know when I first started doing tiger wraps I misread the tutorial and burnished the top wrap in different directions too!...Did this for the longest time before a friend bought it too my attention ....And I still do it that way because I love the results..More ''marbly'' looking than tree ringy (Yea I made those words up,lol)...All my tiger wraps are like that..You can view a few of them on

Looking at the consistancy of some the darker cork inlays...They look ''off'' and a little wavy to me.With a touch of sheen..like a touch up...maybe its not,maybe Im wrong,but they dont look natural. Or its just really nice cork!..lol

Is that sharpie/marker on some of those checkered cork inlays and trim rings? Maybe my eyes are worn out,but I swear it looks like someone went over the cork with a marker.

I use a small circuit tester I got from Autozone..About 2.5'' long with a handle...I worked it with steel wool to get it glass smooth,and to dull the point....Best packing and burnishing tool Ive ever used.

Andy my current rod is a flippping/jigging/worming rod...haha...Its a 7'6'' H Fast. Ive never built a rod of this caliber before....I found the balance point to be at a 13'' grip length......I did a mock up and hated that length!!...It felt akward in a casting motion...My customer is use to 10'' length grips mind you......I finally found that 12'' is damn near pefect...That 1'' inch made a huge
