This was a strip and rebuild on a CUI blank...I had an extra ACS reel seat that was a bit too big,so I fill the exposed area with a tiger wrap..Shaved the threads down ,inlaid eva grips,and a tiger wrap using spring green and purple.
I also made this into a micro spiral wrap...Incredible difference in weight and performance!

Maderia drk red,red-orange,and gudebrod orange....Tried a simple fade with it...Im very pleased with the out come...Not perfect and could maybe used a bit more contrast,but then the picture doesnt do it enough justice.

My toughest build to date given the blank diameter.

With a hair dryer your not gonna over heat the blank..A heat gun yes,but Im pretty sure not many Hair dryers go beyond 140 degrees.
Boiling water is around 200+
I use both a hair dryer and heat gun (on low),with a plastic picnic knife or thumbnail...Havent tried boiling water.

Need to match thread to a Plfueger Patriarch XT...Trying to find a nice blue to match that reel color...It'll be both metallic trim and reg.nylon if anyone has some suggestions on it

+1...I use D thread tied on a small hacksaw handle...Cant ask for cleaner cuts!!
