For a truly great fit, I always purchase the size I believe will be the best (after laying out all the components) and then purchase the next size up and the next size down -- you can't ever have enough reel seats and these seats are not that expensive.

When I find them on @#$%&, I typically purchase them as, you are correct, they are becoming harder to find.

I added another photo to show orientation of the reel.

Thanks. Reel on correct - had another comment on that. What you are seeing is the split grip portion of the rod and the exposed blank at the handle.

35. Matched Outfits
Great article in RodMaker magazine Volume 14, Issue 4. For most of my spec/display rods, I try to match reel to rod. It really helps to sell the overall product. Of course, a $170 Quantum reel not being used is an expensive prop, but I find it to be worth it. I posted several pictures including use of the components shown in the sidebar in the article.

I have had the mixer for over a year and it is a great tool. I quickly abandoned the use of the metal mixing rod and just use a large, flat mixing stick. So, while not a hands off process, the mixer rotates the epoxy and I just hold the mixing stick to the side of the plastic mixing cup for about 3-4 minutes or until the epoxy runs clear. The mixing stick ensures that the epoxy folds over itse

Yes, that would be me that won the Renzetti. This was my 3rd expo and my 2nd reception and was totally unexpected and well worth the drive. David, I am having a hard time locating Birchwood Casey Tru Oil. I have tried the major home improvement centers and some of the smaller hardware stores in my area to no luck. I have used cork seal in the past which works very well to bring out the colors in the burl but would like something that still leaves the grip with that silky smooth feeling.
Thanks,
Charles

Thanks. That looks exactly what I am looking for. Question: Does the TiCH/TiCH 8 come in a double-foot? This is not shown on the picture.

I am looking for a supplier of TiCH Frame Micro Casting Guides with ring sizes of 8 (double-foot), 6 (double-foot), and 4's. I am finding stainless, black, and some titanium with very small ring (3 and 4's) sizes which are too small for the application that I have in mind. Nothing with the TiCH frame. Anyone have any idea where I can look (including any sponsors of this forum)? Any assistan

Thanks for all the input. I have been using a heat gun to put on the tips which works great as I can control it fairly easy. However, for the removal, I will use the methods learned from this post. Thanks.

42. Rod Tip Removal
I am having a problem when replacing Rod Tips on older fishing poles. Using heat to remove it weakens the tip (usually fiberglass) and I have a tip break off (the rod itself broke at that bottom of the tip) a pole during normal use last week. I realize I am using too much heat but the older the rod the more I seem to have to use. I thought about using a dremel and cutting it off. Any suggesti
