Hello Mark. There used to be a head boat in Morehead City NC (I believe it was Capt Stacy IV or Carolina Princess) the rail was stainless steel 1" tubing with holes drilled about every 2.5-3 feet and the rods had a stainless bolt on a bracket clamped to the rod under the reel. Hello Steve. If you have a turkey cooker, dump the oil clean it out and fill with water up to the winding check and boil it for a little while (5-10 minutes) then slam it down on it's butt and see if that check is where it should be and the handle is loose. Hope that helps. Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines.

Hello Lee & Tom. I think I found the article, what is the name of the article, and-or the author's name? I found 2 article from Bill Colby 1 using Pens & 1 using CP to make the stripes, and I found an article from Nuno Paulino who uses vinyl, and Ron Harris uses Testor's paint to make the stripes, The one that uses pens (19/5/22) is the one I think you are talking about. Hi Tom. I've been going through my books and a book titled "How to Make Your Own Fishing Rods" by Mel Marshall with a copyright of 1978 has no info about NCP thread although he speaks of Gudebrod's "Space Dye Thread" but no NCP. Have you any idea who came out with the first ones? Thanks Tom. Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines.

Hello Rich & Spencer. I don't remember it in the 60's but I was a kid in the 60's. In 1982 Dale P. Hello David. I did something similar on some chair rods but I used glitter and a dipping trough, the epoxy was Flex Coat "High Build" because of the weight of the glitter but with powdered pigments I think Mark might be right in using the thinnest epoxy you can find. Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines.
