Hello i have several questions regarding cord wraps using the Atwood micro cord material:
1) If I need to shim under the cord wrap to make a thicker handle on the blank is cork tape a suitable shim - will it hold the adhesive (Perma Gloss) used to lock down the cord wrap? What about a thin polyurethane foam core? 2) Does the color change significantly when Perma Gloss or other binding epoxy or urethane is applied? I will do tests but I am ordering colors so just wondering in advance what to expect. 3) I previously did a butt wrap with micro cord using the technique in the Cord Under Glass article in the Rodmaker magazine. This time I am thinking about just using Perma Gloss as the top coat, looking to keep more of the cord look and texture. Will Perma Gloss be sufficient to bind the cord to the blank without first putting paste epoxy on the blank? I am planning to use a complex wrap style and wrapping with epoxy already on the blank will be a big mess. Thanks in advance. Re: Cord Wrap
