Maybe you would consider the SJ841-MHX or the HM-SJ841-MHX while they are not specifically Popping rods both are Fast action and would work well. Hope this helps!

The "Tiger Thread" is nylon, so the thread will behave like a standard nylon thread when finished without CP (Colors will darken and/or go translucent). Let us know if you would like to give a spool a shot, or if there is anything else you need. Thanks!

The Fuji BMNAG, or the American Tackle TYPHOON series would both be good options for the build. The Typhoons offer there Ring Lock design which are extremely durable as well as several color options, but running double foot guides may not be necessary for this class rod as Russ stated above. Based on the CLB708 that we have in stock at 25 1/4" from the butt the O.D. measures .628" or 15.96mm. I hope this helps!
