Hello Scott, First and foremost we certainly apologize for any issues or inconveniences. The missing item in question was a member of one of our Rod Building kits, our kits are entered as a single item in our system composed of individual members. One of the shortcomings in our system is that when one of those members of the kit is out of stock it does not notify the customer of the back order

Hi Casey, Granted I may be a bit biased here, but the E-Glass blanks are darn near bullet proof. As for the 9' version a big factor into the price jump is the transport let alone the additional material used in the production of the blanks. If your looking for an option in 9' you could take a look at the T90 Gator blanks (page 57 of the 2012 Catalog) or here on our site: , they are more expens

Bob, I was referring to the CB905-Blend & CB907-Blend which Chatham had inquired about. They are located on page 35 of our 2012 catalog listed under Crank Bait Blanks. They can also be found on our website here , listed under BLEND blanks.

Hi Chatham, No need to correct you! Your assessment of the 905 & 907 MHX blanks you inquired about is pretty much spot on. Your choice would really come down to whether you want to use the rod specifically for deep diving/big bait (CB907), or you have the versatility (the 905). Either way I think you would be more than satifisied...and you wont have to trim them ;). Let me know if there

Marc, I've used the Tich frames on a few rods that I fish saltwater exclusively and have not had any issues with the plating if that's what you are concerned with. Also I have a few set ups similar to what you mention, and i have been running either 4's or 5's in the fly frame. Clearance really isn't an issue with these guides so I have not had any issue using smaller sizes.

Harry, If you can spring for the Daiwa Aird is an amazing reel for around $75, or you could take a look at the Abu Garcia Orra they are pretty nice and will be in that price range.

Jeff, Maybe give this a try If you have a power wrapper: after you heat the epoxy take a length of size "D" Nylon and loop it around the rod then pull the two tag ends tight (one in each hand). Then spin the rod at a high speed (don't launch the rod out of wrapper) and move the thread back an forth over the epoxy spot, occasionally moving to a fresh section of thread. I have cleaned

Robert, I know that with my drying motors if I apply to much pressure it will change directions, you could possibly try grabbing the chuck at a slow speed and seeing if it will reverse maybe?

David, I have a 5C68MXF built as a spinning rod and I LOVE it. I personally have a guide set up that I like to use combining Pac Bay Minima 4's match frames and American Tackle Nanolite Micros. If your interested shoot me an email and I can give you the exact layout and spacing that I used, although you may need to make adjustments depending on your handle length and Reel.

Brandon, Between the two lines you mentioned in your post, I Personally fish a HM-P842-MHX for this application, it is rated a little lighter than what you stated above at 4-10 but I love using it for throwing un-weighted Jerk Baits. I have built the 843 for a friend as well and he raves about it also. Regarding the Lamiglas Indian River series, this line was actually discontinued by Lamiglas

Julian, It really a matter of what your most comfortable with. If you will be applying the finish with the rod in this unit, I would lean towards the lower between 6-9 RPMs personally.

Hi Dane, Prowrap 9120 Goldenrod is almost spot on. I also like to use 9140 Goldust as well it is just a little lighter than the Goldenrod. Hope this helps! If you need anything else give us a shout.

Steve, If you are going to cover the feet with permanent marker be careful with what thread you use. If you use lighter colored thread, when finish is applied you may experience bleeding.

Lam, It seem more and more builders and fisherman alike are concerned with making the lightest rod possible, the introduction of lightweight components and blanks have further perpetuated this trend. While there certainly is nothing wrong with building the lightest blank possible, I personally enjoy a well balanced rod. I like to add just enough weight to make the rod balance parallel in my ha

Marc, I feel that the size of your hand is less relevant than how you actually hold the rod/reel. I am a big guy, with catchers mitts for hands however I really only use my thumb and two finger around the seat/reel so I don't mind a smaller reelseat. I am partial to the ATC Aero seats, the hump does form nicely around the palm of my hand while still keeping the overall profile of the seat rela

Hi Jack, Just to add to Roger and Phil's suggestion. After your all said and done with the filler, I usually will coat the grips with U-40 Cork Seal, -. This will help ensure the longevity of the repair, and prevent the handle from getting grimy again. Good luck on your restoration.

Hi James, Try heating and letting it cool multiple times, each time twisting using Billy's method. I have had luck doing this, reheating multiple times seems to break down the glue. Good Luck!
