32. Re: Pro Kote
I've been using it for several years. IMHO it yellows less than others I've used in the past.

I would be quicker to blame improper mixing of your epoxy than the pigment. Give it a day or two in a warm room. If it doesn't setup, you will have to clean it off and redo it.

I would coat it with a urethane like U40 Permagloss. I just pour a little in a coffee filter and wipe it on in one pass. Repeat when the first coat dries.

What is the customer fishing for? Spinning or baitcasting? What technique will they be using? What line weight? How do they hold the rod (I pencil grip my panfish rods for instance)? Are they fishing in a shanty or out hole hopping? So many questions to ask before starting.

Batson REVS54UL. Far and away my favorite small stream trout rod for throwing everything from #2 panther Martin's or joes flies up to small crankbaits. It excells in a brush choked trout stream.

I have used the Microwave guide system on Panfish rod up to 8' long. They perform flawlessly.

He has 4 coats of LS Supreme on the area where the decal will sit. Depending on the thickness of his finish he should be able to sand a small flat area no problem. I would probably add a couple more coats to be safe if I was going to try it but again he's not sanding on the blank. He's sanding the already applied coats of finish.

As long as you don't sand through the LS you will be fine. The problem lies in trying to make it round again. That will require more finish and even more sanding. I would consider building a dam out of tape around your flat spot and decal and putting enough finish inside to make it round again. Allow it to dry fully then put the rod in your lathe and carefully work it back round with the tools an

I'm in need of a thread color that matches the tan on a digital camo reel seat. I've checked with Mudhole and found nothing. Looking for suggestions.

Tom answered your question already. If your prep is done properly ie. If you sand it well etc. Then yes it will be fine. Clear coat will chip and peel just as much as anything else if your substrate isnt prepped properly.

#1) Why do you want a custom rod? (This eliminates a lot of tire kickers in my world.)
The rest in no particular order.
What are you fishing for?
How are you going to use this rod? (plastics, cranks, inline spinners, bait, dry fly etc.)
What rod are you currently using for this particular application?
What do you like about it?
What don't you like about it?
And a whole lot of others

I have had several blanks hydrodipped, including a 4 piece fly blank. The additional weight is not worthy of concern. I did not coat any of the blanks with anything other than finish at the guides and they have all held up just fine.
As for Camo grips, get your hands on some cactus cork and mix those rings with some green cork for a spring Camo look or mix twith some light burp for a more trad

53. Re: cork seal
My preferred and only sealant is Cork Seal. Yes it works great on burl. If it's cork, use it.

Talk to the Vet. Ask him/her how they would hold the rod and go about casting and retrieving line. Pick their brains and work closely with them and you will discover a way. Let them borrow a rod for a day and fish with them. They will figure it out and provide feedback.

Spiral wrap the rod. It eliminates the worry about the line touching the blank. I load the blank a little at a time during static distribution and move the guides as necessary.

Batson REVS54UL hands down the best small stream trout rod I've ever had my hands on without having to tweak the blank. I use mine with #2-4 Panther Martin's and small crankbaits for browns here in southern Mi. Its a fast action which I prefer because I feel like I can control the fish better and I don't lose as many when they start their acrobatics. I get into some pretty nice fish every year (5

Batson revelation REVS72UL. Its 7'2" But it could easily be extended it to 7'6". Hands down the best Panfish rod I have ever had in my hands. I use mine for everything from throwing a split shot and #12 Aberdeen hook for gills and redears on the beds to slip bobber fishing with a minnow or a small jig for Crappies. It is sensitive enough to tight line on the beds and still feel the bite
