this is from the Mud Hole message board
"Abe,
the existing models are not manufactured here. While we did the bidding process with US manufacturers included to be honest none wanted to take on the project. There are quite a few blanks left to be added into the lineup and with both the fly and salmon & steelhead we will attempt to get US manufacturers to produce them.

Usually it is a guide per foot plus the tip so 7 and a tip should be fine.

Sorry I was thinking 13' Float rod. But yes you should be able to make a rod with the top half of the blank.

I am not certain what your question is. Do you want to know if you can use the top half of the blank and use it to build a rod? Conventional what? Spining? baistcaster?
If that is what your asking yes you should be able to use the top half of the blank to build a rod knowing that it will be probably an ultra light as there will not be a whole lot of back bone to the top half.

When you are on a long wrap apply epoxy with the blank (from butt to tip) it goes on a lot faster and smoother then rotate blank.

I don't use any high frame guides on any float rods. As a matter of fact I do more retro fits to low frame frame guides.
I use a 20 as the Butt guide and work to either 7's or 8's along teh tip section depending on the client and if he is winter fishing or not.
Try 20 16 10 and then 8 or 7 depending.

I have had one of the rods that I built with micro guides come to me with every guide torn off except the two nearest the tip. They were on a 7' avid heavy rod 3C70HF with Batson 3.5's all on top with a 6 ring tip top. All wraps were done with a Forhan locking wrap and then coated with 4 coats of perma gloss.
Supposedly this rod has been used for at least a month of heavy duty fishing yet whe
