Bill What is your experience with the Micro wave Guide system? Did you use the measurements for guide placement provided or did you use your own method?? Did you try both ways and see which way works best as far as casting ability? If you have some information as to which is the best way to set these guides up you should share with the foroum. But if you have never used them perhaps you shoul

American tackles line up of Bushido blanks will meet and excede your need for under 150 bucks. One of the straightest blanks around . You didnt mention if it is spiining or casting but here are a few suggestions. MB73/8-15 or the MB73/10-20 or the for spinning the SJ72/8-15 Any of those should fill your bill

I like it. First time on it and had no problems with it at all. If you need a blank then its easy enough to find it. Everyone is against change but in a week you will never look back and this will be the new norm. There is no way that Mudhole is going to go back to their old page as they have invested too much money into this one. Get over it and move forward. I like it.

I use Pro kote lite and threadmaster light mixed. And I know another gent who uses Prokote heavy and pro kote lite mixed. use the same ratio for each. so if you are using 2 cc of prokote lite then use 2cc of threadmaster lite and mix together

You will require to register for a Vendors permit in the Prov. that you move to. You do not need any certification to operate as a rod-builder. I do not believe that we are recognized as an occupation so from an immigration point of view that doesn't help. There are very few people in Canada that would even know of the Guild let alone know that there is certification from them so that is a moot p

Adam You could go to golf town or any other golf store where they replace the shafts and ask for the scrap graphite shafts. These would be excellant for using as your extension piece and any of the extras make great reamers with the abrasive glued to them.

Mudhole does require you to be a legit business and not someone who on a whim decides to become a Business. I am not envious of you in anyway and I believe i stated that in my original post that you had done nothing wrong. I was posting to bring awareness to the suppliers out there that this shouldn't be occurring. Just because you spend 20 bucks getting a tax number does not make it right for

Okay. Am I the only one that has a problem here? Scott not that you have done anything wrong but someone has given you a wholesale account and you have never built a rod. So the guys who have a rod shop and make 40 -100 rods per year get the exact same discount that you do. I find that to be crazy and one of the reasons why it is hard to make a go of this biz. Most of the guys that have a d

If it is a MHX blank they list all deminsions of their blanks. See if there is a comparable blank in their data base that suits your needs. A mb 843 would be close to the same across many blank manufatiures. You may need to order a spare size or 2.

Eric your right it is for me. But there are more finishing problems that are caused by people fiddling around with the epoxy after it has been aplied or by not allowing the finish to self level. Therefore this super long extended pot life just dosn't make sense.

Jimmy How much pot life time are you looking for? If you apply epoxy correctly you should be able to do a complete rod including the decals in less the 10 minutes. Any more then that and you are just fiddiling with the epoxy and not letting it do its job.

If I was to choose it would be ProKote light and Threadmaster mixed 50/50.. This gives you the best of both worlds. Extended pot life and hardens a little better then just straight Pro kote. I find that Pro Kote regular is way too thick and sets too fast for my liking.

Why would you buy a painted blank if you wanted a raw graphite one? There are lots of blanks out there to choose from without going through all the @#$%& of removing the paint.. I just don't understand this logic at all

Epoxy will dry to a tack in 4-6 hours when mixed correctly. I would think that you have mis mixed your epoxy. Since it is not dry i would wipe of the uncured epoxy and redo the epoxy just making sure that the epoxy is mixed correctly. You may want to check the levels in your bottles as you may have mixed the hardner or the resin twice.

Jim Ising just wondering why every microwave guide discussion you jump in on and slag the American tackle guides and the American tackle site on a whole. On the same note I don't see where the American tackle team ever slags the Fuji site or guides. Let us have a bit of professionalism here as both companies are well known and there is no need to slag each other. Dean There is a difference i
