I put the hookkeeper on the 90 degree mark oppisite side to the predominate hand. Left side for a right handed person and visa aersa for a left handed person. This way when they hold the rod up to put hook in the keeper they can see it and it does not interfere with anything.

If you set your price point at a place where he does not want to do business with you, would make this a moot point. He would be the one walking away. Other then that I can't see there be any legal ramifactions of you not doing business with a person.

Rich I don't understand how changing handles can change the length of the rod? Also you state that the 3C68MXF does not have a bend until way down the blank which is wrong if this is a extra fast blank. You should have a bend in the top 1/4 of the rod. I think I would start with the Butt guide at the 15 to 16 inch mark from the reel face and work from there. Not certain what the advantage of

I have never had that problem yet getting anything to Canada. If you really need something you could try Anglers Specialty in Mississauga. Don't expect any deals from them though.

First I thought we were trying to attract anglers into the purchase or at least thinking about a custom rod. The rod builders are already into the custom rod thinking. So are the ads to attract rod builders to RBI or are the ads to attract consumers to RBI? I like the #2 seris of ads better then # 1 as #1ads have all been done for one thing or another already.

All orders that I make to the US I request using the postal system. I got burned by FED EX for a 75 dollar charge once but never again. Just wondering how many Canadian rodbuilders there are?

If he is in europe than the problem is not 50 or 60 hz but the voltage there is 220 vac instead of the 120 vac. that the motor is rated for. This is my opion only.

When you do the X thing tape your tag end down then it will not spin. Snug everything up and start your wrap. After 5-8 turns untape your tag end and cut off after snugging everything up by tugging on the tag end, Tag end is the end of your thread. Hope this helps

351. Re: Tops
Why not use a single foot fly guide as your tip top and just wrap it on. This is done on a lot of float rods so it will work on an ice rod.

Joe I think that that is why 4 lbs flourocrbon leader material is used for. I carry 3 sizes of leader with me and adjust due to the clarity of the water. If you use 8 lbs man line and then your leader it reaaly doesn't matter. The true difference in a float rod is the noodle rod is a SLOW action rod with a Ultra light Power and the float rod Is a FASTER action with a heavier power which is

Joe Under the Loomis GL2 steelhead blank listing there is a N1382GL2 blank. This is a 11'6" slow action Ultra light power blank which is what everyone calls a Noodle rod. All the float rods that I know are a Moderate to Moderate-fast action and a Light power rating. The difference there fore is you can apply more "power" to fight the fish, and land it in a shorter period of

You use the pinky of the rod holding hand to apply the drag to the reel. You will learn pretty fast just how much pressure to apply. The rod will also act as a shock absorber.

Sam I would disagree with you as I have not seen a Noodle rod on any of the creeks or rivers that I fish. There are a lot of float rods such as the Rainshadow IST1384F and IST 1562F or the Raven , St Croix, and Loomis equivelents. The natural reproducing Steelhead are too precious a resource to kill with a noodle rod.

I think that you could have got away with one rod. I use a Rainshadow for everything here but the rivers are not as fast.

I understand that but what are we relative to another float rod? You can pretty well tell by the feel if one has more backbone then the other. I can see the use in fly rods where we determine the line weight and relative power in relation to other blanks. There is no weight other then the float and split shot and possibly the fly/roe to worry about. We use 4 to 8 pound test line and using a fl

Just wondering the purpose of CCS ing your float rod blank? How will this help you make a better rod for floatfishing? Could you explain this to me as I have built 20 to 30 float rods and the CCS has never come into the picture.
