I've done some testing and I can't seem to see a flaw in the performance of the Mudhole chart. I'm just not accustomed to placing the first guide so close. Thought I'd try to get a little feedback.

The new Mudhole guide location tool, keeps the first guide within 2" of the tip on all the rods i've measured on it. (5 or 6 rods all 7ft fast action rods) I'd also be very interested to hear about some of the "science" or at very least reasoning behind it.

Just read an article from Tackle tour and it looks like Kistler is offering micro's on their entire lineup of rods. Just a friendly heads up. Joe

Thanks for responding so quickly. That helps me immensely in figuring out the layout for this flipping stick. After reading and looking into this so deeply, I'm convinced that one of the manufacturers needs to build a "braced" micro top. As a side note, I've narrowed my blank choices down to a castaway or a St. Croix.

So I've finished 2 "Micro" rods and I'm in the process of deciding on a blank for a flipping stick. In looking at all of the micro tip tops, the biggest tube ID that I can find is 5.5. The Blanks that I'm considering have tips that measure out around 7 or greater, so what has been the solution to this problem? Obvious answers include using a different tip top in a bigger ring ID, but

I've read that Hypalon is superior to EVA as a handle material. It was part of an article written about Yammamoter spinning rods. My question is: "why what's the difference?" I can't seem to find any reliable information on this. Thanks Joe
