Hey guys I know there have been a lot of past posts on these guides, but I am interested in if these guides are easier to set up than the KLAG series guides - seems the Microwaves are sold in sets. Anything I should take into account when selecting the set, sounds too easy. Is the stripper guide size standard in all sets? And is it pretty accurate to follow the guide layouts provided by Americ

Guys just about to start planning for a finesse spinning rod build using a Castaway blank (7' M action). I am planning to use the Fuji KLAG series guides, first time using these guides. Wanted to get your input on the guide size set up using these guides on a 7 foot rod that is light to medium action. Rod will be used for light finesse applications. Any input would be appreciated. I know I m

Yes these would be the KL-H guides (spinning guides) - my choke point should mark my first KB4 guide I would assume, the KL 5.5H guide would be my last transition guide. Meaning my choke point would not change from what I originally measured or have done in the past, I am just using less guides between the stripper and choke point. Hopefully this helps

Hey guys never used the K Series guides from Fuji for spinning applications. Building a 7 foot finesse spinning rod, and am considering following the advice in the article for Building a rod using the K Concept. I was considering the following: 20H - 12H - 5.5H - then my running guides would be the KB4 guides to the tip Anyone used this concept yet, and with transition guides in place sho

Hey guys wanted to get your opinions, I have made a few rods in the past, and have always used a thin brush and applied Flex Coat High Build to all my wraps. I mix using a motorized epoxy mixer. I have always applied a relatively thin layer with a brush, but seems like it takes me too long for each guide. I know in the past I have seen some of my finishes start to wear away to the thread. Cant tell how they built the grip. Looks like the main portion would be a Fuji IPS seat (top part of the grip). The bottom of the grip is cork reamed out to slide over the thread and tube section of the IPS (though they somehow have the graphite hood material on the cork area). And I would assume the locking nut is the HPS with no hood and the cork glued down on top. Uplocking this would push

Hey guys was recently at the outdoors expo up here in NY and always like to check out the rods and get some new ideas for future builds. One thing that really was impressive to me was the GLoomis GLX Spinning Grip. It was a hybrid Tennessee grip, seemed as though the cork was built around reel seat tube, and was somehow using an uplocking device (KDPS possibly) to push the bottom split of the c

Any suggestions on a standard set up or combination of these guides. I will have to do some experimenting when I am home with the blank in front of me, just wasnt sure if others had some suggestions of layouts that have worked in the past, I know every rod/reel setup will be tweaked differently.

Setting it up on a Castaway XP3 842 blank, spinning rod used for finesse style fishing - weightless TRigs, Shakey Heads or an occasional drop shot. Will be set up with a Pflueger Supreme 2500 reel. Probably to be used with a 10 pound sinking braid and a short flouro leader. Was interested in the K Guides from Fuji, but was unsure the sizes and styles to consider. Any assistance would be helpf

Hi guys in the process of building a 7 foot drop shot rod, and another as a finesse rod - both foot to be used with Pflueger Supreme reels in the 30 size. I plan on using about a 10 pound braid with a short flouro leader. My question is, what type of Guide would be recommended, these will both be spinning rods. I want a sensitive guide, that will hold up to potential braid usage, and wont add

Guys was wondering how they construct the spinning rod handle on the GLoomis NRX rods. Is that constructed using the Fuji skeleton with cork, and a separate cork insert between the components. Haven't seen one in person so I was hoping to get a few thoughts.

Any info on the Batson 802.75 blank? I was planning a rod build around a finesse baitcaster which would throw trigged tubes, worms with 1/8 tungsten weights and finesse jigs 3/16-5/16 ounce for smallies. Was wondering if this rod was light enough to work with these weights and cast, and strong enough in the back end to work these types of lures through moderate cover without feeling like its un

Hey guys about to work on a build for a buddy. Its a spinning rod for use as a drop shot rod that will utilize the new Fuji SK2 reel seat design. Any advice to get the stock look using the black eva in the photos on the Anglers Resource page. I plan to use the locking nut style to hide the threads under the EVA, in an uplocking design. Couple questions, where can I get the EVA that fits the l

depends on how you hold the reel. The Aero is great, uplocking or downlocking, as are the Fuji VSS seats, buy a few they are cheap enough and get a feel.

Quick question, was going to use the KDPS on a Fuji Reel Seat, could I opt to use the SK2 Graphite Hood to fit the threads on something such as a VSS reel seat? Just curious if this would fit the threads, otherwise I will just use the KDPS

Anyone have any opinions on the Tour Star Grips? I know there were some opinions listed in the search engine within the site, but most were a year ago.. I read some that were not as happy with the EVA being soft. I was thinking of using this on a split grip as the fore grip, I hold my rod in front of the reel and was looking for a better grip that will accomodate my style. Any opinions

Hi guys looking at designing for my father a spinning rod that will use the Fuji IPS style reel seats in an uplocking fashion - planning to incorporate the Quick Lock KDPS for the threaded section. My question is, I can only find EVA grips that are compatible with the VSS series from Fuji and not the IPS style reel seats. Any idea on where I can obtain EVA styled grips to accomodate this build.

Question for the boys at Swampland, over the winter I purchased a couple of the White Castaway 842 Blanks. Which I love!! Wanted to know if you have other blanks in this model available, looking for a little heavier action, possibly MH or H. Thanks again, let me know what model and actions are available.

Good advice but I hold the rod differently than others. My reel sits between my pinky and ring finger. I do this because of my liking to stay in contact with my blank. Less reel seat the better in my builds
