As for the infomercial from Steve, he is right the XP line from batson is really a great line of blanks. I personally brought a few of those for people to check out. And Tyler wants me to correct him, he is 10 and was 9 when he wrapped the rod he had there. Thanks to

The new XP line from Batson is what I use personally, but that is for slot size drum, when I am targeting the big boys I use a Seeker inshore lite.

I was already building a rod for the 2nd Annual NCBBA Red Drum Tournament, but wanted to do more. The North Carolina Beach Buggy Association has been helping, and fighting to keep the beaches open at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I origina

I recently built a 72l for myself. I built mine mainly for yakking and possibly going to use it live lining baits offshore. This rod is increadibel, has loads of power and yet a sensitive enough tip to feel most anything. I built mine with burl cork, no split grips and spiral wrapped it. I used the burl because it would be in and out of the rodholder so much. I have only fished it once, adn caugh

I think you will have problems getting a good balance on a 7' blank with a reel that size. I often use 2500 stradics on similar blanks to what you mentioned and sometimes 3000's. I would take Toms advice and try to match the type of fishing instead of the reel. I also tend to like a more moderate action rod than mentioned for a mirrolure, my new favorite being the Rainshadow XP 844. If you want

I just built on that blank for myself. I went 25,16,8,5's to the tip. I am using a stradic3000fi with 14lb fireline on it. I did some testing with a 20 on it and saw no improvement over casting distance. THe main reason I decided to go ahead with the 25 over the 20 is my spare spool is loaded with 8lb mono and when I changed to the mono there was a vast improvement by starting with the 25. On a
