I have a Bazooka Pro Tube by Flambeau, which I got from Cabela's. I wrap my rods in bubble wrap, and placed in tube......rods arrived with no problems.

I am using 10% thinned Gudebrod 811 on my wraps. How long do I need to let it dry before I can safely apply epoxy?
Thanks, Sean E.

I just removed guides with an underwrap from a blank, going to put some new guides on it. What is the best way to clean the blank without damaging it? There seems to be some epoxy which may have soaked through the underwrap on the blank.
Thanks, Sean

VisualWRAP is awesome!!!! You can watch an entire wrap wrapped right on your computer, one thread at a time. Also, punch in a few numbers, and it will give you your layout spacings, very accurate. Design your own patterns. Great program, worth every penny!!

I am the one that has the suicidal tendencies that Billy mentioned. After talking with Billy, I have put the blade away, and will not be slitting anything. I will just make an extended tie off wrap to cover the bubbled up threads, and everything will be fine. Thanks Billy!!!!! I learn something new on every wrap I do. Thanks to all for the responses!!

I was getting ready to start wrapping another rod, noticed I was low on the thread I wanted to use for my underwraps. Ran down to the local tackle shop, asked for the color I wanted. He brings it out, and I can see that the color is alot lighter than what I had at home. I bought it, got home, colors not even close. Same brand, Gudebrod HT Metallic 9037, Ice Blue. So I ordered another spool fro

162. Re: thinning CP
Thanks for the responses, guys. My 811 is on the heavy, thick side. I will try thinning it a little.
Mike, when I was up there last time, I did check out your CP that had been thinned, much better consistency than what I have. I did not see the un-thinned stuff, but you will have to show me when I get back up there.
Thanks again, Sean

163. thinning CP
I want to thin some Gudebrod 811 CP. How much should I thin it? I was thinking 20% alcohol to 80% of the 811.
Will this work?
Thanks, Sean

Jim, you can find a lot of the patterns in a book by Dale Clemens, Custom Rod Thread Art.
As for a computer program, there is a great one called VisualWrap.

When I go to the photo page, the page comes up, but I can not switch to any other pages. The only page I can view is page one. Never had this problem before, but have not been able to get past page one for the last week. Anyone else have this problem? If so, how can I fix it?
Thanks, Sean

Every time I place an order with the vendor I use, there is always an item back ordered, then it ships a day or two later, and I am charged

I was at this NY class. Excellent time. Good people, good food, and best of all great host!! Billy did an excellent job. He explained things well, and answered any questions we had. And showed us how he wraps. That to me was very helpful, seeing an experienced builder wrap. I am new to thread art, all I have learned is from reading books, websites such as this one, and asking questions. Never
