Fred, it was a NERB that ended up winning Renzetti, Rich Kopchak. I actually have it here with me, brought it home for him, going to meet up with him this week and give it to him.

If you had a wire on yours you could have coated it and found out for yourself...LOL

I do have some .036" piano wire here, will try to make one. I always try to not let the roller slam down when cutting thread, and I also do have a piece of cushioning foam on that knob....good idea. Thanks!

Anyone have a source for reverse tension springs for the Renzetti/ Clemens lathe? I have broke mine several times and is getting to small to be of any use.

Both those patterns are in Billy's book. The one in the upper left on cover, is the St. John's Variation found on the top of page 51. The other one, is the Sparkler wrap found on the top of page 53. Those are the complete pattern instructions.

Great time yesterday. Billy, thanks again for your efforts and what you do for NERB's. Thanks to John at TFT for use of his shop, very nice shop. As Ken mentioned, some really nice work from grips to weaves and crosswraps, from some of the best in the business. Some really great weaves, Cartman and Jerry Garcia!! Looking forward to the next one!!

Many thanks to you, Billy!! NERBS would not be what it is today without you and what you have done for NERBS. Great time hanging out with my fellow NERBS as always!! Great to finally meet Colleen Griffin, Doc Ski, Dave Boyle, Timo, Terry Henson, and any others that I may have missed. And pleasure to see all those that I have met at past shows!! Looking forward to next years show already!!

Carl, I am in Southeastern CT., Hillyers Tackle in Waterford had a very limited rod building selection, and have done away with it due lack of interest/demand. Rivers End in Old Saybrook had a limited selection of rod building components, not sure if they still do, have not been there in quite some time. Other than that, I know of nothing.
