Thanks Mike for putting up the Grizzly site. I already have the hobby lathe, like real well for what I use it for.. however I thought i would go to the site and see what they had for lathes. It was quite interesting I must say.. They offer you hands on use of a lathe.. I clicked on a lathe at the bottom of the page. Then clicked onto animation. A lathe comes up with a bear standing in front of th

Wow ! After reading all the post on bass rod abuse, I think that I might put rod building on the shelf and start up a new type business. I'm only a hobby rod builder and don't build that many rods per year..Reading all of the damage that seem to get done to bass rod while fishing for bass, and the so called abuse they get during tournaments I just thought of something. I think that I might try t

.... Waiting for the new all color issue to arrive. Went to the mail box yesterday opened the mail box there it was, but I was not to happy. Pulled it out and to my surprise it looked awlful. The outside jacket was torn badly, there was one big foot print on the back side of the jacket. The cover page was a real mess. It looked as though it was rolled up in a ball. It was one wrinkled mess.If Lana

The saying goes...one mans junk is another mans treasure. Just last month my grinder burned up,was going to go buy a new new.But before I got around to it, I was going down the road one day and seen one on a stand at a yard sale. Turned around and went back to check it out. The man had a 6" craftsman with variable speed. He was asking $40.00 for it, but all I had was $30.00 on me. He said th

Many years ago I was into leather tooling, came to the point that I was burned out.Thought the best thing was to get rid of it all and move on.Big mistake.I have wished I had my tools a thousand times over. Just close the door and go for some R and R.However long it takes. Just don't go cold turkey, you have a lot of investment and many, many memories. You just might want to open that door again.

Owen, do you have a pet in the house. Just by petting your pet or tossing it a treat while working a rod will give you trouble.Like mentioned above wash your hands often. I don't even own a pet, I was just pet sitting for a friend and found out the hard way. Good luck ! <<<<DON>>>>

Question? --- I want to try my hand at Flocking. I have read that you use Nylon but is there different size fiber that is needed for grips and handles. And if you order a kit should I order any extra products? I want to make sure that I have what I need on one order. Thanks for your help!! <<<<DON>>>>
