As Tom alluded to, if I want to build a rod to accomplish something that can't be done with any rods available, no problem, I buy a blank that I think will accomplish what I want and just make it myself. Like for example I want to chuck a herring a long ways using it as the only weight, without jerking the hooks out after one or two casts. I buy the blank and make my new rod.

I have been using the same set of syringes for years. Drilled a close fit hole into the bottle cap for the small tip and epoxy in place. Just change caps to new full one when old is empty. Don't have epoxy on barrel from sticking into bottle. When I invert the bottle, the epoxy flows to syringe end without bubbles and you don't have bubbles drawn into syringe. If you do see small bubbles, most li

As I have said before, in addition to putting this one part finish in the small cans with a screw in the side at the bottom, i also have successfully drilled a hole in the plastic cap and installed a screw. Both ways eliminate air from getting inside because it is VAPOR PRESSURE that PUSHES the solution out so there is no need to store the bottle upside down in case it starts to harden from moist

A friend of mine and fellow rod builder who recently passed away, got good at removing and replace deeply gouged cork rings and replacing rather than the whole grip.

I know a Blank MFR who uses a firm rubber tapered plug. A little Super glue or rod bond at the tip of the "foam plug" is going to have absolutely no effect on the deformation of the tip of the male ferrule. it is located in side the wall of the female ferrule end so double wall at that location and far less effect than a guide riding on the blank.

Hey RON GRIDER, If you answer the question "How do you join your rod sections together" we may be able to give you more help. As others have said I wouldn't put anything on the ferrule that attracted or clung to any sort of grit or contaminate.
