the first time i used epoxy i got it on my hand and it took a few to get off....never again will i get it on me i CANT STAND the feeling of that stuff being on me

the brick foam must be a real dense foam or something (ive never seen it in person) because when i think of foam the first thing that comes to mind is soft and squishy and figured if it was soft and squishy then when the blank gets pulled down when a fish is on the foam gets crushed (when you are holding on to the reel) if that makes any sense

i made a spool tensioner for around $6 from parts at home depot got a screw that was 1/4 inch dia. and about 6 inches long ($.30) (get as long or short as you need that has threads half way down and is threadless the other half) and a set of 4 nylon washers ($.60) a big metal washer ($.30) a wing nut ($.15) and i couldnt find a spring so i started looking around and found one in a bi-folding

emory you said you use the foam bushings instead....is the reel seat stiff on there when you are done or does it have like a cushiony feel? ide imagine it would give a cushiony feel or does the epoxy make it hard?

im placing an order for finish and a tool and cups and such today so im going to get a spool of the purple cause that does sound pretty good i have teal and silver metalic thread along with light blue and dark green...i need moreeeeeee haha :D....wish i was already a thread ho haha

man im doing everything wrong haha...guess ill just leave everything the way it is because its not really bothering me and i dont use that much and only epoxy once every couple weeks i wear gloves so that should be sufficient enough

yeah thats true guess ill be using this rod instead because i dont want it to give me a bad rep....i hope the parts are good if not ill probably go back to where i bought the parts and shove em where the sun dont shine for telling me they are good haha by the way are the holographic guides by american tackle any good? or are they all show and no go?

i think a syringe would be better....i have flex coat syringes but does anyone know where if any of the epoxy makers sell syringes like a medical syringe? not a medical one but one like it that has the metal needle so i dont have to drill a hole in my bottle i can just poke tip and suck it out with the syringe? or you could get the tops like the flex coat rod builders epoxy glue has that are p

i dont get any on me when i work with it because i use gloves...mainly because the first time i used it i got some on my finger and it took a few to clean off haha....guess ill just grab a small exhaust fan from work and put that on for a couple of hours while im working with it and letting it dry everytime i use it my window is open so that might be helping a little

circulated area....i do it in my room and the a/c circulates the air....is that not good? usually when i do epoxy i dont usually mix more than .5cc of hardener and resin and cant really smell the epoxy while its drying or while im working with it sexual side effects might not be a bad thing like not having to ever use viarga HAHA nah but for real im getting kinda worried now....how much epoxy

well i just tried the metalic silver with a light blue nylon over on my "try out stuff" blank and waiting for the finish to dry and see how it turns out...ill post or email a picture if anyone would like once the finish dries

you can also try the dupli color vinyl paint and see if that works....its made to bend because the vinyl does and its looks ok on vinyl so it might look alright on a rod

im not sure how good the parts are...im using a 7' 30-50lb gator glass blank with eva butt and foregripand fuji reelseat with metal hoods and the guides i havent figured out what i want to use yet but imagine the price for the set to be like $60-80....with the blank, reelseat, butt and foregrip ive got about $70 into it without the cost of the epoxy glue..i imagine it to be around $150 total with

would the metalic silver be an ok underwrap for a 30-50lb class rod thats going to see heavy use?....also would i put a layer of finish on the metalic and then do my overwrap? would a metalic silver underwrap with a light blue nylon overwrap give the same candy effect?

65 and 80 is what i use on most of my rods...i dont need the line stretch from mono because thats what my reel drag is for for fresh water fishing i dont use a leader but saltwater fishing i use a mono leader (lb test depending on what im going after...example: if im on the flats going for cudas ill use a 40lb leader because of the teeth and for bottom fishing ill use a 80lb leader because i w

when you say dump it on do you actually mean dump it on or do you mean load a lot on and spread it out then leave it? when i see dump it on i imagine turning the cup of epoxy over and letting it run onto the wrap

would it be possible to lower the ?voltage? to get it to run slower than it would normally run under full power without hurting the motor? and yeah 240 is not fun! was in a hole working on lights hooked up to 240 and accidently touched it when someone turned it back on and flew about 5ft away from the hole right on my butt

if reading directions doesnt do it for you and you have to see it done goto www.mudhole.com and go under rod building 101 and theres a video of wrapping a guide and also epoxying the guide

i use the flex coat rod builders epoxy glue and it works fine but its the only thing that anyone sells around here and i didnt want to wait...it works alright wish it was a little thicker but all in all its alright...when i place my order for guides and such im going to add the rod bond to the order and try it out

this rod is only going to be fished in one spot and its full of rocks that tear up 40-60lb leader in short order so we use 80lb mono leader only for the reason that we dont have to retie after every cast the only reason really i have that high of a test is because i like braid and its like $60 for a 500 yard spool of 20lb dia(100lb test) power pro and if i were to go less ide need an even big

its more because of the reel thats going on it because the reel holds 375 yards of 30lb line and to spool PP with that would cost about as much as the reel haha
