481. Re: spatula help
mike i did what you said and WOW it came out excellent! leveled great and no bubbles...i definately like the Dura Gloss LS Supreme a lot better than flex coat and with the metal spatula i get a lot less bubbles when mixing as matter of fact i only got like 3 or 4 small bubbles while mixing when i usually get a load of them with a stir stick
thanks for all the help gentlemen its much appriciate

i never thought about doing it length wise instead of around that might be the ticket
when you level the blank do you level it where the part that faces straight up is level or level as in from the middle of the butt to the middle of the tip? (not sure if that sounds right haha)

6-8oz swim baits in fresh water! man thats big for fresh water
im building a 30-50lb class rod thats going to see heavy saltwater use and i was told an underwrap wasnt needed
Spencer dont you hate that! i have a friend that likes to do that when hes drunk or we go out on the boat but hes not satisfied with just breaking guides he usually breaks the blank too

im not sure about sensitivity but we use fast action for snook because it only bends near the tip of the rod and its good for hooksets and finesing lures...not sure if you need that but if its anything like fishing for snook i would check out a fast or extra fast action rod

for holding the small guides try fuel tube from a hobby shop (tube they use on the nitro cars and planes) its easy to make little bands and a ft of it is like $1 and you can make a lot of bands with a ft
or you can also try rubberbands made for braces

ok i have one more question if you all dont mind....
i want to use a light blue underwrap and a black overwrap but i just want the blue to show up in the middle of the guide and not on the edges....i would do the underwrap and put a light coat of epoxy on it then start my overwrap on the outsides of the underwrap to cover it? or is there a different way i should be doing it?

ive searched on underwraps and in all the posts ive seen you should use an underwrap on heavier saltwater rods.....
if going by that where would the starting point on using underwraps? 20-40lb+? 30-50? 30-80? 50-80?
im building a 30-50lb class and wonder if i should use an underwrap or is it not needed? also should i do double overwraps on all the guides? or will just one wrap do?
thanks
