It helped me with any of the epoxies to speed up my time taken in putting them on. I think if you move faster the epoxy gets on the guide and has more time to flow and level. If you are taking a really long time on each wrap then the epoxy is getting thicker and thicker and starting to set. When you go in the freezer or cooler even while it is thawing it is starting to set to you are also losing

Put them on the straightest axis and forget all about spine. It will not help anything. Straighter works better for me.

If you are that close why not go to the big rod expo show in High Point? I would bet you could get all new parts for only a little money with all the deals there. Its kind of hard to get old seats and grips off and they will be destroyed most of the time once you get them off.

I have an old crappie rod with the little micro guides. It might be a B&M but the name is worn off. We could not build them because the guides were only on the factory rods and the custom builders could not buy them back them,Now you can get the same ones they put on the bass rods.

If a person is coming to the magazine reception at the expo on Friday night but is staying other than at the main hotel right there, do they have a lot where you can park without being a guest at the hotel that night?

Some of us are not that specialized. We use the same type action or rod for many different techniques but we still catch fish! Makes you wonder how the old timers ever caught anything with their one or two rod approach.

You will read a lot of stuff on the internet and some of it is wrong and sometimes you have more than one answer that is right. But always look to see who the author is. Are they well known? Have their work stood the test of time? Is their work available for viewing to back up their words? Are they known for having given good advice on a regular basis? Is their name in plain view or do they use a

If you hold a rod and turn it a few degrees to one side or the other to stimulate the same thing as offsetting the guide you see that you are only moving it a quarter inch or something one way or the other. Can that really make any difference? I don't think it does. Thats not really moving the guide closer to the line shooting hand by an amount that could really make any difference. Could it??

I have had a rod that broke when I high sticked it. It was my fault but the break did not look like what you showed in the artifcle. It was long and splintery with long jagged edges that look more like what you show for crushing. Could this be because of the type of rod blank was different than the ones you used in the pictures?

If hte guyu asking got his question answered and then the thread was hijacked it makes no difference if good information was shared. The more information the better.

It seems like having a level wind that does not move and stopped at one side of the spool and then the line on the cast has to come from the other side of the spool and back again several times would hurt casting distance??

HOw do you shim the rear of the reel foot?? Once I put my reel foot into the hood opening there is no room for a shim. Does this need a special type of reel seat?
