I would try it again in a new cup. I wouldn't heat the syringes up either. Just warm the bottles in "warm" water first for about 3-4 minutes. If it is still "white", something is wrong with the finish. I mix only until it gets clear, about 2-3minutes..

Live bait rods are for "live baits" ie mackeral, herring pogies, etc. They tend to have a more sensitive tip. Unless of course you are using some sort of live bait for Muskie... I think if you are looking for a SW for Muskie fishing just look for a "beefier" salt water casting/spinning rod....imo.

Mike and Steve Capt Neil on another board gave me the best suggestion for this chuck. It is to wrap a rubber band around the blank or butt cap where it goes into the chuck. Since I tried this my chuck has never come loose during operation. I don't use this pac bay for shaping as I have a Lathe. Ernie

Fred, Funny you mentioned that. I smelled a very strong odor on my new bottle too. I compared it to the other one I had and no real odor there.

If they cut the tip like that, you might want to make some reamers or maybe a gaff from them.

I troll alot for trout and LL Salmon early in the year. I would not have any rod less than 7 feet for that. I prefer an 8 foot rod, soft tip.

Andy Would you recommend this for Gimbals on Stond ups? I hate waiting around for a slow cure to set just to ensure it does not back off or move..

I use the radius. But I also put the radius on the horizontal just for kicks on one rod and liked it.. I also like long foregrips and keep the stripper guide on those close to it just so it doesn't touch the grip.

Thanks Jim, Understand on the CTS. I looked at them on the web and they look sweet. Which model were you looking at for trolling for Tuna? I usually use Drywall for unibutt, but that aluminum stock sounds neat. How thick is the stock? Just curious. Ernie

Thanks Jim for the update on CTS. I have been looking for a blue water blank that will fit the unibutt . I spoke with leon at Calstar a few months back about this and they had no interest in this. It is a mystery to me also.. Who will be carrying these Bluewater CTS blanks?

Jim The Aftco Wind ons have a very large foot print. I put them on a Seeker stand up last year and they look rather large for them. It fished well, but unless the rod is beefy, you may want to look at All American rollers. They have a smaller foot size and are about the same in knot clearance. I have been switching over to these instead of Aftco Wind-ons. Winthrops do look like the

Hey Thanks for the heads up on Sports Authority and the Penn Sale. For kicks I went into today to see what they had. Picked up a Penn 225 LD for 29 bucks. Both the salesman and manager were shocked at the price. Too cool.. Ernie

Hey Guys Will someone please recommend a casting blank for plastic worms. It would be used for largemouth bass. Is there a recommended size 6 or 7 ft?? These type of rods are not my specialty. thanks Ernie

It is illegal in Maine to strip Birch on public/private trees unless of course they are for firewood/Pulp... Stripping the bark can stunt or kill the tree. You might want to check on the regs.

Jason Some of these butts, the "v"-notch and reel seat are not in exact alignment or wobble some. Make sure you check the rod with the reel on to enure that it matches at least to the guides. A good read on this..

jason, You can also cut the butts off of some blanks to fit the uni-butt which keeps the overall length down. Why do you want to use a uni-butt on 20lbs set up? I would opt for straight thru with either a slick butt (if used for trolling) or hypolon/eva. I used to be a big fan of uni-butts but have started to build all my rods straight thru except of course if I want a short curved butt
