The ones I got from Mudhole fell apart after one arbor. I had to take the tape off and redo it all. Would have been easier if I did this from scrap blanks.

Very Simple... A tip from Capt Neil... Wrap a rubber band on the end of the butt and clamp on the rubber band. It will not open now... It works like magic...Saved me from throwing out my Pac Bay. I have had the rod rotating for over 10 hours..(forgot it was on..) Not an issue.. Ernie ..

Hi Sanford I like black too with a flourescent white stinger, but also am partial to pink.. We have also had good luck with Green Machines with birds and purple/black jetheads. I fish out of Maine with an occasional trip out of Newburyport on my buddies boat. We fished off of Chatham in Mid July. Had doggies gut eat live Bluefish. Never saw that before..the Bluefish kept swimming w

Sanford I made 4 SS-CTSF55XXH. We use 70VS with either 80 or 100lbs Moimoi. We use these for sharking mostly and have caught a few 400lbs on them and they work great. Very light blank especially if you build them with sleeve butts. I used the merrick bronze butt and it looked sharp. We also use them to pull our spreader bars as well from stellwagon, chatham and GOM.. BTW, when you po

Jared I have the boomer jr and it feels pretty stiff enough to handle my 100lbs test on my 70VS.. I just need to build the darn thing.. I just walked in the other room and pulled on it and compared it to the Super Seeker in the same lb class and it feels a little stiffer. I looked at the baja boomer and that was too stiff for my liking.. What are you fishing for? Ernie

I just built 4 superseekers the SS-CTSF55XXH model. They are nice. Calstars are also nice especially the graphfighters series. I like the straight thru application with these as I only have to cut a few inches off the bottom to get the right fit. Aftco 3 series reel seats (will fit the wide foots), aftco gimbal (both come in colors). 8 or 10 inch slick butt Hypolon or EVA grip

I have used both on 80lbs rods. Both will work. I am in favor of rollers, but ring guides will do the job. You see that set up a lot on 30-50lbs rods. Maybe it is a holdover from that.

I too did not know and it is still sitting in its box. Most of my mixes have been 2-3ml(total) and that to me would seem to be a puddle in a 2 oz cup.. One day I will use it..

Dick I tried the large arbors and I had a hard time keeping the hole straiht to get to the diameter I wanted. If I had the right tools, I would be better..lol.. I use drywall tape and rod bond to build up the area and find that to work as well. Just make sure the rod bon goes into the tape. Ernie

Funny you mention this. The 5 minute sets up in 5 minutes, HARD. I screwed up my roller tip top alignment a tad and it was bugging me. So to answer your question, heat and muscle will remove even a roller top. I used an alcohol lamp and applied light heat. It took me a bout 1.5 hours to get it off by myself. I kept varying the heat and I did not want to "burn" the top. It woul

I have a couple of the pink blanks from Mudhole awaiting wrapping. I just match it against Hot pink and Rose and neither really matches too well, but Hot pink is better. The color is almost has a tint of purple in it. So, maybe purple (barney) would go well. I think my daughters want orange and yellow wraps..
