91. NFC Backlog ??
Does anyone know if NFC is having a problem filling orders ? Their site and their promotional emails still say to expect shipping in 2 - 3 weeks . They billed my credit card just over 4 weeks ago and I still have not even received an email saying the blank has shipped ?? I called one week ago and the gentleman I spoke with could not offer any helpful information .
Thanks.

I'm brand new to wraps so this may be totally off base . From what I can read , the offsets mark points which will allow the relationships between the sides of the pattern to remain constant . I would guess that the number of equidistant offset points needed would be determined by the length of the wrap you wanted . Wouldn't the length of your wrap be determined by the length of the pattern and t

I apologize for asking a question when I know you want an answer but is pattern length a variable that can be entered into your calculator before it spits out offsets ?
Thanks.

You asked about locking wraps . I believe the subject has been debated here with most folks suggesting the use of locking wraps . I assume you were talking about the Forhan lock wrap . I'm a newbie also so you should take this with a grain of salt but I can't see a good reason not to use a Forhan lock wrap . I can't imagine the few extra wraps of thread and tiny amount of epoxy affecting th

For what it's worth , advice from another person with very limited experience ... The advice from Guy Taylor and Roger Wilson regarding starting off with a kit is something you should seriously consider . Having given yourself only 6 weeks or so to learn basic technique , decide on components , receive components in the mail ( with holiday mail delays ) , set up your equipment / work area , and

Does NFC have a return policy for blanks that do not measure to be what was published on their site and , if so , what are their tolerances ? I know they have a breakage return policy listed on their site but could find nothing about measurement tolerances ??

Since you have the tag end just barely secured under the main warp , would it be possible to fray the tag tip after it's cut and then pull it through so the bulge might be a little flatter . This is honestly more a question than a suggestion .

Yes sir. Like I mentioned in my reply above , I should never have included the word sensitivity in my original post . Learning as I go with y'alls help . Thanks .

Oh Dear .... Thanks to Mr. Danek and Mr. Ballard for responding . I imagine my original question may have been a cowardly attempt to avoid making the decision on which type guides to use . This being only my third build and my first ever fly rod build , I was unsure after reading so many completely divergent opinions . If an outside factor reduced the significance of the difference between guide

Yet another basic question from your resident tyro . Hope y'all will bear with me . I was pondering whether to use single foot / ceramic guides or more traditional Snake brand guides on my first fly rod build . I've spent a bunch of time reading opinions on this in the archives here and the topics seem to boil down to increased weight and/or decreased sensitivity and function . ( I sort of discou

Russ,
Thank you . I know so very little about this but I couldn't imagine why a four piece would function better than a two piece other than in ease of transportation .
